Re: Has any one been to PARIS?

I was in Paris about 6 years ago, this time. It was very rainy, and not a great vacation spot. When I was in Paris, we also went to Spain and stayed at Barcelona and Madrid. I HIGHLY recomend Barcelona--great wheather, near the Mediterranean Sea, and tons of fun.

Good luck!

Re: Has any one been to PARIS?

I have been there a few times, I lived in London for a few months so I got to visit a lot of places and I have to say it was my least favorite city I went to. I think it was mostly because the people there were seriously rude, not everyone of course but we encountered enough people like that. The city is nice, the food was really good but it's a lot of sight seeing and shopping which got kind of old for me after a bit. This is totally just my opinion though, lots of people love it there. Personally I much preferred London, Venice, Amsterdam and Brugges (in Belgium).

Re: Has any one been to PARIS?

I was there my senior year of high school and unfortunately did NOT have a good experience. It was fun cuz I was with all my friends, but other than that I really didn't like it. Everything seemed so fast paced and rush rush rush, the weather was crap, and the natives were rude and unhelpful. Maybe its different when your with someone you love..I dunno... but I'm still hesitant about going back.

Re: Has any one been to PARIS?

Like many other girls, I have also been to Paris and think it's overrated. It's cool if you don't have high expectations and enjoy some cultural things, ie museums, etc. But overall, I think there are much better places to go. I've been to many places in Western Europe that I would go back to (and have returned to), and would not go back to Paris unless it was a stop on the way or a one-day thing.

oops eta - The last time I went there the weather was bad also. It was in June. I was there also in October when I was much younger with my parents, but I don't remember the weather at that time.

Re: Has any one been to PARIS?

I went to Paris when I was in HS -and then traveled to the south of france- I was an exchange student in the south of france ...
I can't wait to go back as an adult and I think it would be a beautiful HM spot! I did not find the people rude to us...and I didn't speak French either. It can be very romantic and there are many interesting places to see and many things to do...

Re: Has any one been to PARIS?

I LOVE Paris, but also not sure I would honeymoon there. I mean, it's suppposed to be one of the most romantic cities, but there's a lot to see and do. And depends what you're looking for. We knew we wanted beaches.
Although, I wouldn't mind going to the French Riviera--Cote D'Azur.

Re: Has any one been to PARIS?

I've been to Paris 4 times. I LOVE it. It is the most romantic place I have ever been. Strolling along the Seine, spending the afternoon at the Musee D'Orsay, viewing the city from the top of the Eiffel Tower and from Notre Dame, and oh, the food! And the wine! And the day trip to Versailles! The whole city just has the most pleasant vibe to it.

No one was really snooty to me, I mean, a few here and there, but come on - people in NYC have WAY worse attitudes in my opinion. As long as you're not the stereotypical 'Ugly American' - loud, brash, trying to order Bud Light and complaining that the TV is in French, you'll be treated pretty kindly. I was, at least. And like I said, I was there 4 different times in the past 6 years. It is seriously romantic - just something about it, like 'l'amour' is in the air... it's so cheesy but it's true! I can't believe how many of you had bad experiences over there. I'd live there if I could!

Someone else mentioned Barcelona... now there's a great city too. I lived in Spain for a while, and Barcelona is the coolest city in the world. It's like Disney World for adults. Hard to explain. I guess you could make it romantic too - it's right on the Mediterranean and has great beaches, restaurants, and nightlife.

Re: Has any one been to PARIS?

Paris is a great place.. However for me I am constantly going to museums and more museums.. ITs so full of history you could spend weeks there.. However it could be very draining all the walking .. and finding places..

Re: Has any one been to PARIS?

I've been to Paris. It's a very romantic city (when it's not raining-LOL) but I wouldn't suggest it for a honeymoon. There are so many things to see that I;m not sure if it would be relaxing.

You can FM me if you need more info.

I've been to Paris and I LOVE it!!!!!!! Especially if you are a city girl. It's very romantic, you can do low key stuff. Everyone was very helpful and NO ONE was rude. You should go to versaille (did I spell that right), it's beautiful.!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Has any one been to PARIS?

It seems like a perfect HM spot in theory... City of love and romance, but it really isn't all that great. I went to France for 3 weeks in HS and out of all the Provinces in France that we visited, Paris I have to say was one of the more interesting ones(giving it only about a 6 out of 10).
But it's your honeymoon and you might see something that the rest of us overlooked.
Good Luck.
