Has anybody heard of renting outdoor heaters for a cocktail hour?

Or am I crazy? I'm getting married in early Oct and I really want an outdoor cocktail hour - but it may be too chilly. Should I look into renting outdoor heaters? Has anyone done this?

I have never done it myself, but we went to a party last year (in May, a communion party) that was in the backyard and they rented them. It was wonderful because in the evening it got colder, but it seemed a pain the the butt to keep them going. If whoever you rent them from stays and takes care of them than it may be worth it, but I would check on that.

I attended a late Sept wedding where they uesd them in a tent. They worked great.

I say do it - I went to a wedding the last weekend in September 2 years ago - the cocktail hour was outside and all the women wore the men's suit jackets

A lot of places that rent tents/chairs/tables for these sort of occasions also rent the heaters. I'd check the phone book for your immediate area because not all of them deliver, either.
