Has anybody taken Vioxx?

I got a letter yesterday from mypharmacy regarding the Vioxx recall. I plan on taking the letter to the doctor tomorrow. I am just surprised to receive the letter

I took it a few years ago for back pain. They took Vioxx off the market b/c, I think-don't quote me, the reason is that it could cause heart attacks. I'm not positive on the reason but it was recently taken off the market. And lo and behold there are lawsuits pending already!

Yes it can cause heart problems.

My friend has been on it for years and has had significant heart related problems. Her doctors are trying to determine if vioxx was the cause.

I never recieved the letter!!I have been taking Vioxx for awhile and now have a heart condition.

I took it for a few years. I heard from someone that it only has the potential to cause heart problems while you're taking it. Not sure if that's true though.

i already have a lawyer working on it! my dad was taking vioxx for two years and suddenly dropped dead of a heart attack.

talk to a lawyer - my grandfather is currently in the hospital with Vioxx related gastro-intestinal bleeding. It seems that in addition to heart complications, over 100,000 people go to the hospital with stomach/intestinal bleeding due to taking vioxx. .

it acts as a blood thinner and can cause heart failure and bleeding in some cases.

(the people who usually go to the hospital with vioxx related bleeding are elderly with other health issues - according to my grandfather's doctor.)

I'm so sorry Mrs. K

I took vioxx for awhile. It was WONDERFUL for my bakc pain, but I ahd to stop taking it b/c it made my stomach blow up. I literally looked pregnant and none of my clothes fit and I felt disgusting.
