we put our announcement in our local papers. it didnt cost anything. we mailed it in. i typed up what we wanted written about us and included a picture.

Same here...I just dropped it off at our local newspaper with what I wanted to write and a picture and they printed it 3 weeks later.
Newsday does this too, but they limit your text to a very small space and they charge you $50 (I think)...I don't remember the exact cost.

I think it was $55 in Newsday. Mine was in there 3 weeks ago.
