has anyone asked you how much your dress costs?????

I was at work this morning and was telling a woman that works in my dept that my dress came in. Keep in mind I work with mostly men, so the rare occasion does rise to talk to another woman about wedding stuff once in a while....

My MALE coworker overheard and chimed in and said 'how much did you pay for your dress?' (he is not married, not in a relationship, not engaged). I snapped at him and told him it was none of his business.

Was I wrong? I dont feel comfortable telling co-workers (nonetheless a guy I dont know too well) how much my dress cost.

Yea, people have asked. I just say my mom was very generous. I don't tell people, because like you said, it really is no one's business!!!

Dont get me wrong, i would tell a close friend or even another female co-worker, but this guy isnt even close to being married. I felt like going off on him and accusing him of being nosey. But I didnt. I just told him NYOB and that was that.

I tell people, but only because I bought mine on craig's list and it was so incredibly inexpensive I get giddy sometimes about it. I feel very proud of myself for finding a dress I love for so little.

I hope someday to make another bride just as happy when I resell it.

One of my old co-workers that I'm pretty good friends with asked me. First I told her 'enough' then she started guessing. So we played the 'higher / lower' game. Eventually I just told her. I haven't really had anyone else ask, nor would I tell many other people, especially people that I barely know. I don't think it's really necessary.

some people have asked me. i will usually say that my mom is paying & i don't know. unless its someone who is planning a wedding & looking at dresses. i know that i asked friends how much theirs cost when i was first looking, so i don't mind being helpful.

My FMIL keeps saying no one will think you got your dress at the price you did because it looks more expensive.
I honestly don't want people thinking I spent a lot lol

If it was a close friend or even a female coworker who was engaged and looking for a dress or something I would probably share but other than that I feel like that question is up there with 'how much did your e-ring cost?'

everyone knows gowns can be a bit on the expensive side. if they ask i have no problem telling.
my bm freaked when i told her how much my gown cost. she thought it was way more expensive.lol

I don't know.. but I feel like people asked me. I probably told them though. I don't really care if they know or not. This question doesn't faze me at all. But I understand where some people are coming from.
