I was at Rose's wedding on Saturday (she's my FH's cousin) It was AWESOME!

The place was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! When FH and I pulled up, I think our exact word was 'WOW!' As you walk in there is a room to the right and two to the left. There was food EVERYWHERE and the food was delicious. I LOVED their chicken quesadillas! She decorated the cocktail hour rooms as if she lived there, family pictures (old and recent pics) and candles all over. It was a beautiful touch and everyone loved it! The one room had a beautiful fire place and mantle (I will post some pics of how it was decorated)

The meal started off with an appetizer, portobello mushroom, tomatoe and fresh mozzarella. Salad was arugala with tomatoes and lemon vinagrette (DELICIOUS) Dinner entree's was a choice of Chicken Florentine, Filet Mignon, Grilled Mahi Mahi and Grilled vegetable Napolean. The CAKE was BEAUTIFUL (I have a pic of that too) I didn't have it, but it looked delicious!! And there were also assorted pastries at each table.

The service was fantastic!

She used Stan Wiest as her DJ and played everything she requested! The dance floor was packed the entire night!!! She also had a Croatian band (Joe & Mario) and they were great too!

Her flowers were beautiful! (Not sure who she used though)

If there is anything else you want to know, let me know!! I forget a few things. If you are having your wedding there, you will not regret it, NOR would I be worried of anything! It's GORGEOUS!

oooh! Awesome! I'm so glad it turned out fantastic for her & her hubby (as well as us future Bourne brides)!!!!

Definitely post pics for us (as long as Rose doesn't mind).

Here's a few pics I took. I wish I took more pics of her accents, she had the candle placecard holders too, which I didn't realize was there until they were half gone! :o( It was raining out so I couldn't get outside much, but the place was gorgeous!

Pic of the mantle in the sitting room with family photos and candles (This was set up every where, window sills, tables, etc.) I thought it was a great idea!



Pic of the cake, it had TWO rows of candles around it! BEE-U-TEE-FUL!

Thank you so much for your quick 'review'. I think we are all nervous about the location because it seems to good to be true. I am so happy for her that it all went well. And although no one wants rain, with all the room inside, its a great place for a rainy day.

I am getting married on September 12th 2003 at Bourne and I just think the place is spectacular. My only concern is the bathroom situation. There are only 3 bathrooms...Was this a concern of any one else?

Also my cermony will be there any I am a little nervous b/c the room is small and I am having over 200 people at my wedding..OH NO!!!!!

Don't know anything about the ceremony room, but the bathrooms was not an issue at all! I had to wait on line once the entire time! Not bad... the only reason why it may get crazy is because they are for men and women... no separate bathrooms... But really, it was NOT a problem at all!

I would prefer that they have more bathrooms, but its really not a concern. I am more worried about the food and service. But I am confident that all will turn out well.

Thanks for the feedback on the bathroom situation at Bourne...I appreciate it! With about a 240 guest list I was getting a little nervous!

As for the food and service, I am slightly concerned but I have only heard good things about the Lessing Caterers. I am having my rehersal dinner at one of their sites as well (The Riverview). My future mother-in-law loved it and said the food was fabulous!

This place was our second/third choice. We liked it a lot, and I'm glad Oct bride didn't see anything wrong with the sides of the building. That was our biggest concern. When FI and I looked out the back we could see the entire wings on both sides was crumbling and even marked off with bright yellow do not cross tape. Very unappealing. However, that was a year ago and if a BRIDE didn't notice it then no one will!!!

No, I didn't notice a thing wrong with the sides of the building, the place is gorgeous and the FOOD was delicious! AWESOME cocktail hour! You ladies have nothing to worry about!

The Honeymoon...that is the best part of the entire thing!!! Iam going to Bora Bora and am so excited about it!

We booked the Bourne Mansion in February of this year. I walked with my Fiancee all the way around the building. I thought it was in very good shape. Especially when compared to some of the other 'mansions' in the area. The look of the mansion is the last of my worries.

If the food is as good as Octbride thinks, then I will be extremely happy!

We booked in January and the building looked more than fine. We were also there as they were painting the ballroom, so that made me happy to see. I was also told they will be redoing the bathrooms, which I don't even think they need to be done, that's JMO. I am so excited that we booked there!

oh good, I am so glad they fixed it up! When I was there, they even had one of the collums missing!!!!!

I think that was when it first turned over from the Military academy LaSalle to Lessings.

Did they get rid of those billboards? Just curious. Are they called that? The ones they kept scores on when they were playing games in the fields.


My parents loved Bourne and they wanted us to book there so bad.

I loved the view it had! I think its the same as Lands End.
