Has anyone been disappoined by a regret

Has anyone been disappoined by a regret

I got two 'no's' (regrets)
for my wedding today - it's a long story - but it upset me that these two people aren't coming.

They didn't offer an explanation (not that they HAVE to) it was just very cold - and I think that paired with some stuff in the way past - they are making a statement by not coming and it will ultimately ruin our friendship.

Has anyone else had this experience with any regrets you got?

I was actually on the other side of the story once. I was really good friends with this one girl. Her mom got really sick and I was there for her every step of the way, but I felt she kept on pushing me away. I figured she just needed her space. But the final blow was at her mom's funeral, she barely said a word to me and months went by that she didnt return my calls or anything. I'd have to say about 2 years later I heard she was getting married, but I heard it through a mutual friend. She never even told me. I got an invitation in the mail, but I sent it back with regrets. Last that I heard she was really p!ssed at me because I didnt go. What was I to do?

It would have been a different story had she called or something. Im not sure what the story is between you and your friends, but maybe you can call them and tell them how you feel. It might just make a world of difference.

at this point, i WISH people would say no!!! we've only gotten 2 no's TOTAL so far (still a lotmore left to get though) and we did NOT budget for all these people!
i know what you mean though, there are people who you definitely expect to be at your special day...

Maybe you could call and ask? They might be having financial difficulties that they are embarassed to dpeak to you about?

Perhaps they have something else going on that day that they can't make it? It might not be a personal thing at all!
Why not call them though and invite them over for a dinner after the wedding, since you won't get to see them AT the wedding

I just got a regret that bummed me out. My college voice teacher, whom I'm very close with, just responded no.

I understand why - I mean, classes start the next day and she's all the way up in Binghamton. I'm still sad about it though.

Maybe you should call the people and just tell them how disappointed you are that they aren't coming! You'll at least get your explanation then!

All of my dad's family lives abroad expect for 1 cousin that lives in Jersey. HIs family that is abroad won't be coming because their son is getting married the week after mine. Although we understand, my dad is very sad. His cousin can't come either since he will be travelling during the summer. So my dad will not have ANY family at my wedding. He only has 2 friends coming. Most of the guests are my mom's friends and family.
I'm really sad that my dad won't be able to share the day with his family as well. I hate seeing my dad sad.

FH grandmothers won't be coming. He has both his grandmothers still and I have none. It upsets me more then him. For one, its their only grandchild that is going to get married- just go. The other doesn't like to travel, but she's only in Jersey! Its a 3 hour trip!

Yes, unfortunately, my family is like that. They will not go to one of your parties if you missed one of their last ones. It's kind of petty.
