Has anyone been to Cuba?

DH and I are interested in going this summer for about 10-12 days. I'm planning to go to Cancun and travel into the Yucatan to study Spanish and/or volunteer for a few weeks, then DH will meet me in Cancun and we'll fly to Cuba together.

Anyone been there and have suggestions?
