Re: Has anyone been to Sandals in St Lucia.....
My husband and I were married at Anse Chastenet in St. Lucia last November. We met a bride who had stayed at Sandals, and she described a Cancun-during-spring-break experience: watered-down drinks, bad bands playing Bob Marley covers, mediocre food, and drunken frat boys. Good times.I can tell you that St. Lucia is stunning. If you're looking for a truly unique resort, consider Anse Chastenet or Ladera (we stayed at both). While you'll have to do without certain amenities (no air conditioning, but the ceiling fans were just fine, seriously!), you will truly experience the island and be able to enjoy your new husband in a quiet, private setting. There is plenty to do at both resorts, and the setting is breathtaking.
Of course, all this depends on what you're looking for. But if you're willing to do without a typical hotel environment, Ladera and Anse Chastenet might be the places for you. I can't say enought about them!
Best of luck!

Re: Has anyone been to Sandals in St Lucia.....
I stayed at the Regency. I did not feel like it was a Cancun type spring break place, I had thought it MAY be, but it totally wasn't.The food isn't totally gourmet, but it is good. And the drinks were good too, sometimes you'd get a bad bartender or a bad drink, but nothing horrendous.
We loved St. Lucia. We loved our room, and we made friends. FM me if you want to see pictures.

Definitely not anything like our experience at the Sandals Grande in St. Lucia. We stayed for 10 days and also visited the other two Sandals locations - the Regency and the Halcyon. Neither of them were like drunken frat parties either. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would visit another Sandals because of our GREAT experience. FM me if you want more details.
Everyone has a different opinion of places, but I always find it is safer to listen to advice from someone who has actually stayed there, not an opinion from someone who has never stepped foot on the property.

We stayed a the Sandals Grande and our experience was nothing like this. The Grande is amazing! It's couples only, so there is no 'Cancun during spring break' that's why we choose to stay there. The service is beyond belief! They want to make sure you are comfortable every second you are there. The food was pretty good, not the best I every had, but not the worst. We loved the drinks, we never felt they were watered down. I don't know what the non-sandal's resorts are like in St. Lucia, but if you want to be waited on hand and foot, and stay in a clean, beautiful hotel, then definitely do the sandal's thing. It was worth every penny! I can't wait to go back!
