Re: has anyone been to St. Bart's?

So I admit I am a lurker, I've been in med school and didn't really have the time to post.....but when I saw no one was able to respond to your post I decided it was time to come out from behind the shadows....

My fiance and I went to St. Barts in Nov. 2005 after getting engaged. We stayed at a nice relatively inexpensive hotel (80 euros per night) and the rooms were right on the beach. Across the street there was a really good bakery and a store that sold really good wines. Here's the link for the hotel....

We ate out alot and the food was sooo good alot of it was French cuisine. Overall St. Barts is nice but it is also pretty expensive (10 euro for a corkscrew, 2 euro for a can of soda).

FM me if you have any questions.HTH!

Re: has anyone been to St. Bart's?

I forgot to add....

I would suggest having dinner at Nikki Beach. It is right on the water just the ambiance alone is worth it.

Next I would go to Gustavia, it's like the downtown area. They have a ton of restaurants there and alot of shopping. Anything from Tod's to Quicksilver.

Lastly I would suggest renting a car if you're not already. The rates are pretty cheap, I dont remember the name of the company we rented from but in the airport there is an area that has all of the rental companies. We rented a small suzuki for like 30 euros a day, and the island is so small we were able to drive the whole thing and explore.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
