Re: Has anyone been to these venues before?
ive been to the carltun and i wasnt really impressed esp for the price they charge! but the ballroom was all white and i didnt like the fact that i would blend with the decor, they didnt have much seating for cocktail hour, and everything i kept asking about was 'extra'
i saw around 20 RHs and this one didnt really stand out to me, maybe i was expecting more since many speak very highly of it... JMO though

Re: Has anyone been to these venues before?
The sterling is a cheap box type of catering hall. If you are talking about the one in Bethpage. Not a wedding hall. We had our teacher end of year party there. Food wasn't very good but it was cheap.
Village club was another one of my choices but pricer than the Royalton but very nice.
Carlton is not my style. Very old and very pricey as well. Food was ok, nothing I'd remember. HTH

Is Lake isle in New Rochelle? If so I've been there - my brother got married there, it was very nice. It's not super fancy, my bro and sil aren't the glitzy type so it was perfect for them.
I've been to the Inn at great neck also, i work right next door. They have low ceilings if that bothers you and the main room is shaped a little weird, its kinda an L shape.
I've also been to the Sterling. My cousin had her Sweet 16 there. Honestly its the perfect place for a Sweet 16 but I don't know about a wedding. No offense to anyone who got married there.

Re: Has anyone been to these venues before?
I'm getting married at Douglaston Manor on a Sunday afternoon in April, their prices are very reasonable and the place itself is absolutely beautiful. I would recommend it for no more than 200 people though, even though they say they can accomodate 250. We are having between 175-200 and even that might be tight.

I have to say that I totally agree. I went there and thought it was nice, but definitely not as nice as some other places I saw that were half the price! I wasn't a fan of the bridal suite either, small detail but I thought for what the charged it should have been nicer.

Lake Isle- I looked into this place after my mom raved about a batmitvah she went to many years back. It was a totally not what it used to be. It smelled of cigar smoke, the rugs were dirty. I'd pass on it.
tarrytown house- This place is really nice but it's also very $$. I've had a few work events here. There's tons of outdoor space for beautiful photos.

i went to douglaston manor..it was beautiful, and we got a pretty good deal and they have a beautiful beautiful bridal suite with this awesome balcony..the only reason we didnt book was the shape of the room..its t shaped and we were just concerned who would sit where and if someone would get offended if they were in the back kinda away from the center..but it was def beautiful and u should give it a look..jmo hth

Re: Has anyone been to these venues before?
I actually just blocked off rooms at the Renaissance Westchester Hotel. My fh and I went there to look at it and I really liked the suites. The staff seemed friendly and helpful.
