Has anyone considered/or has

quit their job right before their wedding? Like giving your two weeks notice, three weeks before your wedding?

I WISH I could quit.... well, I like my job, I'd just rather work with FH at his store, but we need both our incomes for a few more years!

I wouldn't call what youy're doing EVIL... I mean you're giving 2 weeks notice...

I wouldn't want to do that, I want to get paid for the time that I'm taking off!!

lol no but that's b/c i actually LOVE my job-- i'm very lucky b/c i was at a job before this one that i actually HATED so much i used to cry Sunday nights when I had to go back on Monday morning!!

After the Christmas break I could not take it anymore and my FH told me no matter what that I should leave b/c I was so miserable...

so if it happened to have been 2-3 weeks before my wedding i would have done it... no notice either! idc if a place is that bad-- i just leave, life is too short!! so glad now tho

Re: Has anyone considered/or has

I used to work in a staffing firm and I saw plenty of brides come in after their wedding, who quit two weeks before, and then started their job search after they came back from their HM.

I think it's a great idea, if you can handle the 'pressure' of not having a job, and holding off. A company won't look down upon it, but I'm in no position in my life to not work for five/six weeks without knowing where my next paycheck is coming from.

As far as you go Jenn - you have something else that you LOVE and are talented at doing, so you're at a great spot to do so!

I quit my job a month after my wedding, the paid time off is very nice.

It's so funny, but what is it about planning weddings that make bride's want to quit their jobs??? Is it because they now feel more secure? I've spoken to FH about it, he sees how happy I am working at MAC and I paid for my schooling in aesthetics to which it's just sitting there. He is supporting me, but I'm afraid of making a move. I feel like we will ALWAYS need money, so if I don't make the move sooner or later, I feel like I'll be trapped. But on the other hand, my salary where I am isn't peanuts either, we could move into a house much sooner on two incomes that one and a little bit on the side I'm doing part time.

I actually quit my job three weeks after I got home from my honeymoon, I was not happy there and it seemed like everytime someone mentioned my job I felt nauseaus, and so therefore I used all of my sick time as well before I left.

You shouldn't be doing anything if you're 'miserable'.

Re: Has anyone considered/or has

This is something that I have too considered. I hate my job as well. FI and I have talked and I want to go back to finsh up my degree full time. My job is not flexiable at all. So since we are getting married in June I figured that I would quit In Aug before school starts. All I can say is that I feel your pain! Are you going to invite anyone from work?
