i'm starting to have second thoughts on the wedding gown i ordered. i placed the order about a month ago. and people tell me not to look at other gowns, but there's still a little doubt in my mind that maybe this isn't the dress i wanted. has anyone else gone through this?

I felt this too. the dress i ended up getting was the second the dress i tried on and was skeptical that it was THE ONE, simply because I could not believe that I had found it so soon. Then I went to other stores and kept trying on dresses and my mind kept wandering back to the other one. When I went back to try it on and I loved it just the same and figured this must be it. But i do know what you mean, because after I put my deposit and spent the whole night thinking about whether i had made the right decision. but for me the dress was not one of the most important things to spend money on, so I found something that was within budget so I could spend more on other things that were more important (photography) - so I'm with you on the budget thing. The bottom line is, no matter what you wear you will look stunning on your wedding day and it will show because you'll be happy, and your fh will be stunned when he sees you too - that's what's important.

I actually just ordered my dress yesterday and I have to say I just don't like my dress I LOVE it.
I spoke with one of my FMIL friends and she said to me 'Make sure you just don't like your gown, be sure that you love it' and I have lived by those words. It just so happens that the first dress I ever tried on was the one for me.
I have also sworn not to look at anymore dresses unless it's for my MoH or BM.

I doubted my choice. When it came in I decided I hated it, so I had the dress completely altered and it looked like a completely different dress.

I think its the fact that you cant keep trying it on to assure yourself. I went back and fell in love with it all over again.
GO back and try it on you will love it all over again

Yes - definitely. Especially because I have a gown that happens to look terrible in pictures! (Not pictures of people wearing it, just pictures of it hanging up.) I didn't have a lot of $$ to work with, so I bought a David's dress, and I really do love it, but I wish I would have had the money for some of the dresses I was obsessing over before I started looking. But I know I'm going to love it on my wedding day!

Well I doubt my choice every once in awhile mainly because I forget what it looks like Then when I look at it or put it on I love it again. Buuuuut sometimes I do see a dress or 2 that makes me wish I had come across it in my hunt for the dress... didn't have enough time though...but I'm definitely happy with my dress and I almost feel like a princess in it

Seriously!! I was also one of these brides who doubted the dress a million times, and still am even though I've seen my dress again!!! My best advice is to stop looking at other dresses!!! This is how I drove myself crazy!!

I did for a while after I purchased it - but once it came in and i put it on I feel in love with it again.
At my fitting i wished i got something less poufy but tha'ts just becuase it was so heavy.

sometimes i question mine bc i chose it so quick. i found a pic online and knew it was me. i went to a bridal salon that had it and she made me try on a few others but i just wanted to try the one, and i did and bought it. now im a little scared. esp when i see some other girls dresses..like uhhh maybe i should have tried on more. maybe my dress isn bridal enough? im trying to remember to trust my first instinct and hopefully when i go in for first fitting, ill be reassured when i see it again.

I think every bride goes through this to some extent. I absolutely love my gown but have i looked at others and been like oh wow thats gorgoues, and compare it to mine ofcourse. Additionally, my gown was the 3rd dress i tried on and the first store i went to, so in my head im like, oh why did i rush with this? But i never said to myself thats it i need to change my gown b/c i ordered my gown for a reason. Every dress is different and has something beautiful about it and you chose yours for a reason b/c you fell in love with it.

ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!! It happened to me, I even went and put my gown on Ebay! DO NOT look at other gowns that will drive you NUTS!!!! At the end the gown never got sold and I wore it! My gown was gorgeous and I love how I looked on my day! You chose your gown for a reason so stick to it!! XOXOXO Kitty

I DID! I wound up ordering my second dress and cancelling my first, and honestly, it was the best decision every. Go with your gut, if you are unsure, then dont switch.

i feel this way all the time!! i ended up ordering the first dress i tried on, in the first store i went to. sure, i tried on about 7 different dresses that day, but still - and the fact that i ordered the dress almot 9 months ago and it's STILL not supposed to be in until july freaks me out because i'm terrified that once it actually arrives, if i hate it, i won't have time to replace it by the wedding. but i just remember how i felt when i tried it on - i knew IMMEDIATELY it had to be my dress, even without walking out of the dressing room and seeing myself in a mirror. it just felt right. and then i walked out, mom cried, and it all made sense. but heck yes, i doubt my decision all the time and hope i have that same sort of experience when i go to try it on when it finally arrives. . .
