I've been to one of the Piccolo Bussala that's on Old Country Road. Great food! Great service! They serve family style!

Mim's is very good. Fun, loud atmosphere. Huge Menu. Testarossa I've heard mixed reviews. Piccola Bussola I've heard good things about.

HUGE portions of food!!! In other words, if you order one plate of Chicken Parmesan, it would be enough to feed like 4+ people. Enough to feed a family.

FYI, also in the vicinity are Butera's (Woodbury) & Stresa East (Woodbury). Both on Jericho close to NRC.(isn't that where you're getting married? For some reason that's in my head?) Butera's is good, I've never eaten @ Stresa, but it may be worth it to check it out?

Re: Has anyone eaten at....
My family loves Piccolo. Their food is awesome! I live in Chicago and go with my friends and family almost every time I go home!
I thought of it for my RD and talked to the manager one night. But they don't have a private room, just areas that they would dedicate to your group. I wanted to give speeches and give out gifts to the bp.
We ended up choosing Tutto Pazzo in Huntington (next door to Flower Michele) they have a private garden room.

I went to a bridal shower at Mim's. I remember the food was good, but it was a brunch, so I can't say how dinner food would be. We had the back part of the restaurant, I don't know if there is a separate room. It was a nice place.
I went to a bachelorette party at Piccola Bussola. It's a family style place and I remember that there was a ton of food and that it was really good, though this was back in late 1999.

Mims in Syosset is good, my MOH (JozieB0925) had her Bridal Shower at Testarosa and the food was delicious!!!! I've been to Stresa East and I think Mims and Testarosa are better.
Also, there is La Viola in Syosset which has family style italian and is really good (but is less in the way of 'atmosphere' in my opinion).... I would go out to eat in the places you're interested in and then make your decision!

Stresa is fabulous. I love the food and the ambiance. It's right before the Woodbury Commons.

Re: Has anyone eaten at....
I had my Engagement Party at Cafe Testarosa....its the FH's family's restaurant meaning we go there for everything (sweet 16, communions, etc) not that they own it but his family has been using it for years. I've always enjoyed it. I'll try to post a pic or two of our e-party there.
