Has anyone else had serious issues with Huffman Koos and/or Broyhill furniture?

My sister has had complete hell with her dining room set. It took them almost 5 months to deliver after they said 6 weeks. When she got it, it came off the truck with scratches, cracks on the underside of the chairs, dents in every little place. When she wanted to put it back on the truck they told her to keep it and have it replaced (since she had thrown out her old set in anticipation and had nothing). So they came to replace the set, and when my BIL went to check out the pieces before it came off the truck, he found even WORSE damage. One chair leg was completely severed!

She doesn't even know who to blame..is this Broyhill or Huffman Koos?!

I have sent back furniture to Huffman Koos, it was damaged too! They were awful to DH and I also, which is why I bought my couch at Macys (HUGE MISTAKE ALSO). I am convinced that Huffman Koos and Macys are awful to buy from.

Re: Has anyone else had serious issues with Huffman Koos and/or Broyhill furniture?

I have posted many times about the HUGE problems I had with Huffman Koos .. they are the ABSOLUTE WORST company I have ever dealt with .. it took nearly 9 months .. 5 deliveries .. 2 tech visits .. before I finally was satisfied enough to give up the battle with them on our dining room table .. the ordeal was making me sick, frustrated and angry ... and I just wanted it to be over.

It took 5 months before any real action started happening in this whole fiasco .. people in their organization were not returning phone calls, or would not follow through, or made BS promises. The store manager wasn't even returning my phone calls (after five months of messages, she swore she never got 1!!) .. looking back, I should have marched down to the store and waited all day if I had to .. I know better now.

The problems your sister is having sound eerily familar to the problems we had with them .. and while maybe part of it is the manufacturer (our set is American Drew 'Masterpiece') .. I lay the bulk of the blame on the entire Huffman Koos organiztion, including their warehouse, and mainly their Farmingdale store we purchased from .. I'm sorry, but when you have dissatisfied customers (backed up by the tech) .. it should NOT take 9 months to settle .. and I do admit, I settled instead of getting a beautifully finished piece .. this table, when I see it in the 'right' kind of light .. looks like the finish was put on the surface in a dusty room .. however, there were also scratches and chips in the table leaves that needed repair.

As I said .. we had 5 deliveries made on this table ... but I would swear on my life that the third table they brought to us, was the first table they removed from our house .. the chips, scratches, and uneveness across the middle of the table were identical. (The biggest issue I had in the beginning was where the table meets in the middle, where the leaves would drop in, it wasn't flush .. one edge of one side of the table was raised above the other adjoining edge of the other side of the table. I hope this makes sense).

One of the tables that came .. a leg to that table was completely broken .. huge chunk just missing .. and this was a set that was sworn to have been inspected before going out!!!

I wish your sister lots of luck .. I know when I dealt with them, it was a very stressful year for me .. I wasted basically all of my vacation time on the deliveries and tech visits, and spent many hours on the phone, mostly without any success.

Re: Has anyone else had serious issues with Huffman Koos and/or Broyhill furniture?

It's funny that this topic came up...DH and I ordered our BR set from them on Nov 28th. It was delivered on Dec 13th, but the bed was broken. They reordered the bed and attempted to deliver it two weeks ago, but the bed was broken again. We have calls into the guy who sold us the furniture, but now that I'm reading these posts, I'm really pissed! They've had our money for way over a month now and DH and I are still sleeping on the mattress and box spring.

I wish everyone luck.
