Has anyone else had someone who you were friends with....
turn on you because you are so happy with your relationship with DH or FH? I lost a person who I thought was a friend. We have known each other for years. Now she seems annoyed and bitter because I am happy and she is not. I guess she was never a friend after all.

I have had similar experienes. You need to talk to your friend about it and try to get her to realize there is room in your life for 2 important people.

I can't talk to her about it.She talks behind my back now. She will see me and not say anything to me. I work with her. I have known her for years. I just can't believe she would turn against me like this because I am happy.

I do NOT want to be friends anymore with her. I don't need friends like that! I just can't believe she is like this after all these years. I have been nothing but good to her.

I don't want to try to talk to her.She has basically been making me feel very uncomfortable for months. She has been whispering to other people and I am sick of it. She will only talk to me if I make conversation otherwise we won't talk at all. When we do talk she appears nice but 5 minutes later she is whispering about me. She makes NO effort to talk to me.

Her loss...so who cares. You don't need negative people in your life, especially during your happy planning.

Don't sweat it, people are like that. Some people grow and some don't. She sounds like the type that won't grow. You are at two different places. Move on and don't give her anymore of your energy.
I had a friend like that. She was all party-party and I was moving into different directions. Last time I saw her, she was bragging about hanging out at the bars until 3:00 a.m. and I was like 'uh, okay....' because she was all condescending to me about my 'booooring' lifestyle of having a home and building a life. The party life is fun when you are younger, but doesn't it get old when you are hitting mid 30's? I see nothing glamourous about being a bar ***** at 50. Sorry.

YEP!!!!!!! I have a friend (since HS) that doesn not talk to us (other friends) if we have a boyfriend. I even lived with this girl (and two others) for 2 1/2 years. She has always been the same way. If you are happy, she doesn't come around often.
It has never been this bad though. I went out to dinner for her Bday last May and then she never showed up for my dinner (20 days later) then FH and I got engaged June 1 and I haven't heard from her since!!!!!!!!!
My roommate (another friend) talked all the time but she would call her cell phone rather than calling our apt!!
I expect this from her and I am not saying we won't be friends again (we have all mutual friends) I will invite her to the wedding BUT I would NEVER be as close to her as I once was.
Honestly I feel bad for her (and all others like her) I know she is unhappy with her own life and doesn't want to be around happiness.
It is true that when you get engaged you find out who your TRUE friends are..

Not only did I lose my supposed best friend but my husband lost his too 2 months before the wedding. They are married to each other and supposedly living the ideal life...2 kids, house in glen cove, etc. but they found an excuse to have a big blowout and said really nasty things to us.
They both pulled out of the wedding and left us high and dry. They also tried turning other friends of ours against us. My husband and I techinically got together at their wedding although I knew him before that and for some reason I think they were so jealous about that. I have come to realize now (through time ,my family and the ladies here) that they were 'toxic' friends who basically added nothing to our lives but heart ache so I guess we r better off...but sometimes the hurt of their actions is still there.
Some people just cant stand to see others happy, especially when they love to be the center of attention. Those were our friends. I say, move on. Life is about a thousand different chapters in one lifetime. We closed that chapter and have opened a hundred new ones.
