...to a wedding where the bride or groom never showed up OR changed their mind at the alter and said 'I don't...'?
I don't know what made me think of this, but last year FH and I were at a wedding where everyone was really worried that the bride would leave the groom at the alter... thankfully, she showed...

Re: Has anyone ever been...
wow. I've heard of stories of where either the bride or groom change their minds last min, or stand the other up at the alter. I'm sure its happened. I knew one woman who is now divorsed that while she was in the limo with her dad on the way to the church, her father was trying to talk her out it. She even admited to me she only went through with it, because she had his baby.

No I haven't thankfully, but I know of people that have cancelled the wedding with only 3 months left to go. The guy was a jerk anyway and my poor friend was left with a beautiful Reem Acra dress

I have a friend who cancelled her wedding three weeks after the invitations were out. She didn't give back any of her shower gifts either because she used them immediately. That's why mine are still packed up. I am too superstitious for any possible bad luck!

Re: Has anyone ever been...
I went to a wedding where the bride was 1hr and 1/2 late to the Church! We all thought she wasn't going to show....even The Groom appeared to be very nervous. We saw him on the cell phone calling her. And the Priest was SO angry....he Almost wouldn't marry them. The Bride is a drama queen....What Else should we have expected!

Re: Has anyone ever been...
I have not been to one, but at one of my friends wedding all of the BMs came in for the processional and then it was a solid 15 minutes before the bride walked down because she was having some doubts. They did wind up getting married that day...and they are happily married 5 years later. But boy...was it an intense few minutes!

No thankfully I've never been to a wedding where someone backed out at the last minute!! How awful!! I'm sure it happens though. However I do have a friend whose FH at the time broke up with her just a few months before her big day... but I think in hindsight she's glad it happened then, instead of getting married and then having doubts.
