Re: Has anyone ever been to Ireland?
I've been there, had an amazing time and can't wait to go back. A lot of the fun I had was going out with family in areas that wouldn't be as interesting to tourists (mostly around Mayo and Clare) but I also loved Galway, it's one of my favorite cities in the world. I would stay in a B&B instead of a hostel if it's your honeymoon. There's a great travel agency company in Lynbrook that has tons of info on Ireland and could probably take care of the car rental ahead of time, www.sceptretours.com, if I do any touristy things when I go back with FH after the wedding I will use them. I would definitely recommend flying into Dublin, driving around and then leaving from Shannon if you have the time to spend there.

FH & I went last year - the airfare was real cheap...we did t a week road trip from the west coast of ireland to the east coast. Loved everyone but Dublin - everyone was so nice but in Dublin...FM if you need other info - I have a whole lota research - The views are beautiful. I can guarantee you'll have an adventure there.

It says that I can chose either Shannon or Dublin. Any Advice would be awesome.
Thanks so much to you ladies that responded!!
Land in Shannon - Dublin's WAY too congested and when we went to return our car in Dublin - we got stuck/lost in the taxi queue for an HOUR!!! FH had to make a Long Distance call on his cell to contact the rental car company that we are in the airport but stuck in the taxi queue!

I've been to Ireland twice. The most scenic part of the island is the west. Be sure to do the Ring of Kerry, Killarney, Dingle Peninsula and you MUST MUST do the Aran Islands and Galway. FM me if have any questions, I LOVE Ireland!
