Has Anyone ever got TOTALLY WASTED at a Work Related Function?

I am just wondering....

My office had a Thanksgiving Reception last night, open bar, for the people we do business with. Well, one of the girls who works with us got totally wasted, was sittin on guys laps and could not even TALK. Not to mention, she was wearing her small black dress, where everyone else was wearing business dress.

I just was so turned off, I think it shows no class and no way to represent the company that you work for.

Always a bad idea to get drunk in front of coworkers and bosses. I would be so embarrassed I wouldn't be able to go back to work!

I know..and my boss commented about it to 2 of us anyways, so its not like it was not noticeable!

my experience was not getting wasted but getting buzzed enough at a media party to think that stuffing pieces of bloody prime rib in my paocketbook was a good idea! needless to say..the train ride home, didn't smell so great and my pocketbook needed to be scrubbed out the next day :)
my old boss pretty much encouraged drinking heavily (to be fun and outgoing) at these events.
Ah, the wonderful world of media and advertising :)

Oh I hate to admit this, but yes I got TOTALLY WASTED at my old firm's holiday party many years ago.

I didn't truly embarrass myself in front of anyone important (thank God) or do anything truly stupid. But I did get sick in front of all my friends. The hotel security had to help me out of the place. I simply cannot remember anything past 8pm that evening. It was bad enough that my friends had to take me home in a car, and CARRY me out of the place b/c I had passed out.

Those damn sour apple martinis - till this day I cannot even LOOK at them
