I never had any and now at 27, I am getting one on the left side top. Weird!

I had two removed when I was 23...not sure how much of an adult I was then, but

I had 1 at 15, and then 2 more done at 25. I think I need the last one soon! The one at 15 was actually the worst. If they aren't impacted it isn't too too bad.

I had one done last year. It was impacted and I was never in so much pain before. They put me to sleep & DH said the surgery was like 10 mins. I was longer in recovery!

My wisdom teeth never came out.
I went to the dentist's last month I think for a cleaning and they did their usual x rays and he noticed one impacted way up high.
Beth, you said yours was impacted at 15 and hurt the worst. The dentist told me he doesn't think my tooth will ever come out, it may just stay there. Is that true or will it come out eventually?

I think some impacted never come out, but can cause more trauma later on, so they recommend getting them out. I think it was the worst because I was living upstate, and the dentist removed it, not an oral surgeon. I was only on novocaine, and it took over an hour! The oral surgeon took less than 10 mins for 2 teeth. After the dentist removal, I was swollen for over a week--like a basketball, and in extreme pain. No swelling with the surgeon--I think he just knew more how to do it without so much trauma to the mouth. He was great if you need a recommendation.

I had all four taken out at once. They were impacted. I got so drugged up from the surgery that I was hallucinating. Someone was moaning in pain and I was screaming, 'Who is having sex?' And apparently I was telling the doctor that I thought I was beautiful and then I laughed hysterically and cried hysterically. I was seriously drugged. I made a scene. So embarrassing. I don't even have recollection of this. Then they gave me codeine for hte pain and it made me violently ill ... and drugged. So I had to go on a lighter painkiller and BOY was I in pain.
