I did a long time ago (maybe 15 years?) so I don't really remember in detail but I don't think it was scary.

I just had one done today for my lower back. It wasn't scary at all. It depends on what you choose. You can have an open or a close MRI. Go to Zwanger/Perisi. They were very accomodating. I had the closed one , and it didn't bother me one bit. Good luck. If you have any other questions you can fm me.

Thanks, my DH has to have one. I am scared for him and he is not even nervous at all LOL

I've had both kinds (open and closed) a couple of years back - not scary - but very noisy!!!

It's not scary, but it is VERY noisy.

I've been for more than I care ot remeber. I was scared the first time but it's really not scary. They put you in a tube that's open on both ens. if it's for lower back or knee or even middle back your head will be sticking out. The hardest part is that you have to stay still for 45 minutes. Sme places will let you bring music, others won't. I just lie there like a nap and breathe and relax for 45 minutes. you hear a lot of knocking noise, but you don't feel anything and they try to make you as comfortable as possible. I am HUGELY claustrophobic, but I've gotten so used to it that it really doens't make me nervous anymore. it really no big deal. Also, just wear clothes with no metal on them, no zippers, no underwire bras etc. I go in sweats anda sportsbra so I can keep my own clothes on and not have to change into a gown. i'm much more comfy in my own clothes, wearing a bra, and nice and warm!

What part of his body is being done? I've gotten a bunch done of my head. For those you are slide all the way into the machine, only your feet stick out. Not so good if he is claustrophobic. As long as he wears comfy clothes and relaxes its no big deal. Its absolutely painless, but you are unable to move, so if you have a wedgie or you have an itch, it can be quite annoying. hehe. As others have said, it is noisy, but I usually wear earplugs that they give me.

Just relax as eveyone said and stay very very still. thats it. But it is noisy

I have one done every three months. It is not scary, but very nosiy.
The one in Islandia is an open MRI. They also have great hours.

it was scary at first (dont like to be in enclosed spaces) but then you get used to it, I even fell asleep
