I found the bm dress that I want, but I wanted to check it out in a different color so I asked them to send me a swatch. The bridal shop said they will give me a swatch if I agree to buy the dresses there? At first, I was like 'okay'. After I received the swatch from them, I happened to find the dresses at a different shop for much less. Not sure what to do, is this a big deal if I don't order from them, I mean it's just a swatch.
What do you think?

NO WAY. Did they make you sign anything? I would call shenanigans on that. A swatch does not = a contract.

I know sometimes you have to pay for swatches, that might be the only issue. But they can NOT hold you to pay them the price of the dress if you didn't sign anything. I'd just not call them back and see if they persue it, they'll probably let it drop when they don't hear back from you.

If they do start asking about it, you could tell them you found them somewhere else much cheaper and see if they will honor the other shops' price ... and if they don't, you don't have to do anything since they do not have your credit card, etc.

Exactly my thoughts. Usually you pay for the swatch not sign a contract for it they did this most likely b/c they knew their price was higher and it was an easy sale

Well usually you have to pay to take home swatches. But you can just go directly to the designer's website and order a swatch from there. Then you can deal with whatever dress shop you want.

Don't worry about it, if you didn't buy anything or sign a contract you have no obligation to them.
