Has anyone ever hinted for an invite? What did you do? (poll)

I'm a little poll-crazy lately since i'm procrastinating some hw...


Have people you did not tend to invite ever acted as if they were definitely getting an invite or kissed up in hopes of getting one? What were the circumstances? What did you do/say?

I had an annoying co-worker constantly talk about what flavor-of-the-month she planned to bring to my wedding.... and finally when she emailed me the sparkly red gown she planned to wear I had to let her down nicely. I told her we could only invite a limited number of guests, and unfortunately that meant I couldn't invite people from the office. She was shocked, but at least she stopped asking me about wedding stuff daily.

i explained how FH and i both have big families and how our guest list had spiraled out of control and how we're over capacity.

We've had multiple people either ask if they were being invited and we werent planning on it, as well as people just hint about keeping the date open. We can only put so many people in our RH space so we had to cut...so we just nodded to those people and don't plan on invitin gthem. We are at teh point wher we wont' make plans with people we aren't inviting till after the wedding b/c we don't want to get back in touch with them and feel we have to invite them. lol

i had friends straight up tell me they were CRASHING so not to bother sending them an invite.


If i could invite the whole world i would, (okay, honestly I wouldn't b/c i don't like that many people ) but i can't.

Oh well.
I'd rather tell people they aren't invited, than let them think all along they are and then not get the invite.

There have been 2 people who have mentioned to us time and time again about our wedding. Finally I was drunk and told them they weren't invited. I said 'We can only invited X amount of people and I'm sorry but you didn't make the list.' Luckily these people aren't close friends just hi & bye aquaintances.

yeah many people hint and i just change the subject or say yeah i know its crazy how many people i cant invite including family, so we are just keeping it small
