by Margaret Atwood? I know it's an 'oldie' but I read what it's supposed to be about and it sounds like it might be an interesting (and freaky) read. Want to know if it's worth it before I commit.

I read that ages ago, it was good, but a little weird.

Yes I had to read it for a sci/fi class I took. Basically its about our society in the future... women have become 'baby-making machines..' either you are rich and you raise a baby, you are young and healthy and you grow a baby and then give it to the rich people, or you are old or infertile, and you get sent away. It was very interesting, I enjoyed it. It definitely has a feminist spin on it. There is also a movie which is pretty true to the book.

They made a movie based on the book too.

Some big names were in it.

Aiden Quinn
Natasha Richardson
Robert Duvall
Faye Dunaway
Elizabeth McGovern

And, every time I hear the phrase 'bank error' it makes me remember that book!
