Has anyone ever tried this?

Sooo this seems pretty tempting-FH and I would LOVE to save money and do some DIY for menus, placecards, and programs.

This seems fairly easy. Should we go for it?
I have a great printer at home.

We're making/made our own menus, petal cones and programs at home. I didn't use a kit, I just bought all the paper I need. I definitely think it is possible, just make sure you print samples of everything before you start printing on the actual paper.

I had a local printer print out our menus on 80lb card stock, which I designed in Adobe Illustrator. We had 75 printed (I did 2 per page) and they came out great. The printer was WAY cheaper than Kinkos or Staples -- I think the whole job (AND he cut them for me) was under $30.

I am doing the whole thing at home with my inkjet at home and it all has come out fine. I would do it and you save money and its more personal since you made it yourself.

I did placecards, programs and menus at home and didnt use a kit. THe menus were printed on vellum with a cardstock backing then tied with a ribbon.

Place cards were in cardstock and then inserted into a tent placecard thing.

Bought all paper goods at Paper Presentation...

I used kits for my programs, place cards & menus. They came out gorgeous if I do say so myself lol. I added my own decorations/color schemes, and they looked professional. So I say go for it!
