Whatever you do, don't take the sleeper car trains! Worst experience ever traveling from Barcelona to Paris, I seriously would have rather walked!

Sounds like an AWESOME HM!!! I was Paris years ago, and was supposed to go as part of our HM, but we had to change it to another location 3 days before the wedding because of the riots.

Depending on how long you have in Paris, you definately have go to the Eiffel Tower, Versailles, take a stoll down the Champs D'Elyse, a visit to Notre Dame, the Louvre, shopping, shopping, shopping!!!!

We're going to Paris for our 1 year in November

In Athens there is this little shopping area with tons of stores, shops, restaurants, etc. Probably built for the tourists, but, that's what we are.
(there were tons of locals there too, fyi)

We spend so much time there after vising the Parthenon. (PS: Go here at sunset - less hot, less crowded, and the sunset is to die for!)

It's called the plaka. Our hotel was right near there and DH and I loved going walking around the plaka at night. Go to the town of Oia in Santorini. It's known for its sunsets. Also, in Oia, you can walk down to the Ammoudi harbor and there's a little trail that leads to a swimming area. We loved swimming in the sea. The water was so calm and clear. You'll have an amazing time. All of those places are wonderful.

Paris is amazing. Both times I've been, I've taken one of the hop on/hop off tours to get myself oriented. There are so many sites in Paris - you'll have plenty to do. Take one of the sunset cruises along the Seine and visit the Eiffel Tour at night - so romantic.

THat sounds like a wonderful trip - you'll have an amazing time discovering each of those cities. Here are my recs:

In Paris:
1. Visit Mon matre (and Scre Coeur) and walk around the square. Get a portrait of you and your FH!
2. Have dinner and spend an evening in St. Germain/Latin District;
3. After you visit the Louvre, walk through Le Toulerie (sp?) and grab lunch/snack at Angelica's. They're famous for their incredible hot chocolat.

In Venice:
Since it's your HM, I'd splurge and stay in the Cipriani Hotel. It's an amazing hotel.

In Rome:
Stay near the Spanish Steps. IMO, it's the most romantic area of the city. Read Angels & Demons before you go - FH & I had the best time visiting the places mentioned in the book.

Have fun!!

It's funny, I was gonna say the same thing.

Also, on Montmartre be sure to visit Moulin Rouge.

In Venice, there's a great glass making factory a few blocks from Piazza San Marco (which is also a must see). I don't remember the name of the factory, but they make the most beautiful hand crafted venetian glass. It's rather expenisve, but they also make smaller things that cost less. I guess the big problem would be getting it home.

Visit the little cafes, you'll soak up lots of culture. But never order a hot chocolate in english, 'cause I actually got a cup of melted chocolate with a few cookies on the side. Oh, and be careful what you order 'cause many things have alcohol in it and they won't tell you.

And in Rome, down one of the little off street near Piazza Navona there is a little place called Pizzeria La Montecarlo. It's small, quiet, you can eat outside in the alley (it's clean) the waiters were great. They sang to us and even fed (jokingly) one of the women I was with. It was great.

Have a great time!

OMG! this is so true! We took it from venice back to rome, not a good idea to put it mildly.

When you are in rome, you def have to visit Tivoli, it is small town just outside of rome. We took the train and then walked through the town to get to the Villa d'este, which is the main attraction. But i heard that you can take a bus which leaves you right there. Also, I recommend buying the book 'Rome's Top Ten' mainly for their restaurant recommendations. Many of the restaurants right near the main attractions in Italy are not very good, they feed you old crappy food from the 'tourist menu'. But if you walk just a tiny bit to the restaurants recommended in the book, you will have great italian food

congrats, you have a great honeymoon planned

I feel your pain. I took one from Zurich, Switzerland to Paris. I was not in a good mood in the morning.
