has anyone gotten airbrush tanning done?

One of my girlfriends did it and it looked really bad, DON'T try it close to the wedding.

I've had it done before and it's MUCH better than the spray tan booth. I went to Paul Labrecque on the Upper East Side and Zoey was my airbrusher. With tip, it was a little under $80. I didn't exfoliate very well before I went so it only lasted for 3-4 days but I saw the results right away.

Basically, you go in and you get naked. Yep, naked. Then she stands there with her little airbrush gun and hoses you down. She has a little sponge-y brush that she uses as well to make sure you don't streak (there was not a SINGLE streak or missed area on my me). You shouldn' tplan to shower for about 10 hours or wear light clothes that day. I'm definitely going to do it again if I can't get tan enough in time for the wedding. hope this helps

ETA: My MOH and I did it on the same day (we both have blonde hair and blue eyes) and it looked really natural, if that's a concern

if I got this done on a Friday, could I go to the beach the next day?

ETA: never mind....I just realized I wont be going to beach in late september anyway....duh.......

I had it done before my Wedding, & still go for special occasions. It comes out wonderful!!! I go to Dakotah Salon/Spa, they have 2 women there who lease space, they are from Brazil Bronze.

ETA: I just wore disposable underwear, you can wear whatever you feel comfortable in, but I recommend just wearing the underwear, trust me, they don't care that there's a naked body in front of them- they're used to it.

It was full frontal Jennie up in Paul Labrecque Salon And I'm REALLY modest too!! But I walked in and Zoey said in her European accent, 'My dahling, I need you naked.' Then it seemed like a bad women's prison porno when she asked me to turn around and put my hands against the wall It was just so she could spray my hands and make sure they got tan too

I went to a salon in Sayville and paid $35 dollars and I didnt even look like I had anything done. The lady said it was because I have a pale complection.

That's silly -- if you're pale, you should see it more! You should try Paul Labrecque or Brazil Bronze -- I'm pretty white myself and I got a GREAT color from it.

Do they let you shower there to exfoliate or do you have to do that at home before hand?

They told us to exfoliate with a sugar scrub (as opposed to salt I guess) before we got there. They said they could do it for us for another $40 or something like that. This was back when I was in law school and had no money though (yet, somehow still managed to find $80 for an airbrush tan, right? ) so I tried doing it myself at home. I think it's possible to do it at home but I didn't have a good enough sugar scrub.
