I wanted to give them the world.
But I felt so good to come on here and see this thread.
Alicia!! PLEASE realize that you ARE givinig them the world!! These boys are going to have a FAMILY now... a mom to give them hugs every night and every morning, someone to chase away their fears and teach them the value of life.. a Home (and home REALLY is where the Heart is, not just the toys and 'craze of the week' things that lose their value w/in a month)... they're going to have a sense of security, hope for a bright future, and a chance to make the most out of what life has to offer.... honestly, with the situation that theyre living in now, i cant imagine that they could have even been optomistic about tomorrow... nevermind all the possibilities that await them over here. We get so caught up in wanting to give our kids everything that we forget whats REALLY important, and seriously, if theres anyone here that can give those kids the LOVE and support that they need, i'm sure everyone would agree that its YOU!!!

) but seriously.. when we were in college, we would always break out this poem whenever one of us had a break up or just felt 'defeated'... and it always helped put things into perspective!! (we called it the 'strong woman' poem... definately fitting for right now i think!)
After a while, you learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul,
And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning
And company doesn't mean security,
And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts
And presents aren't promises,
And you begin to accept your defeats
With your head up and your eyes open,
With the grace of a woman, not the grief of a child,
And learn to build all your roads on today because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans,
And futures have a way of falling down in midflight.
And after a while, you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much.
So you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul
Instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure...that you really are strong,
And you really do have worth;
And you learn and learn...With every goodbye you learn.
