Yes, we sent an invitation to our officiant.
We sent one too, but only because we invited him and his wife for the reception. I wouldn't have sent one if we didn't want him to stay....are you having yours for dinner?
my officients are my co-workers and also my friends, so we sent them invites
Yes we did, granted he was DH's good friend, but even if he had been a stranger, we would have invited him.
We're sending them to our co-officients b/c we heard we should and its a good reminder for them!
Exactly, i sent mine an invite as a reminder. He RSVP that he will be there just for cocktails.
bump
We're sending one to him. And for the rehearsal too!
We will be sending him a wedding invite AND a RD invite
We met with our officiant last night and when we left I was wondering the same thing. She's travelling from NYC to do the ceremony - so I feel bad just sending her packing when the ceremony is over. I wonder if she would even want to stay being that she won't really know anyone.
no, we didn't do this. If you have known your officiant for many years, I can totally see inviting him or her, but if its somone you have just met and hired for your wedding ,then why would you do this?
Do people invite priests? I left my parish a while ago when I moved and don';t even know the priest who is marrying us.
yes I invited my Pastor and his wife....both will be attending
I'm inviting my officiant...he's my uncle. But if he wasn't I still would out of courtesy to the priest/officiant.
We are inviting the Priest to the wedding but not the RD.
So dumb question, If you send them an invite does that mean that they are attending as your guests? Will they be seated at a table and stay for the reception?
