Hi! Its me again. I called and she is very nice. They are sending me out a demo tape and we discussed what they would play..I told her that I had emailed them ahwile back and never heard from them..she just apologized..she said she doesnt do the emails..but anyhow..now I know to just call them. I am hoping someone on here as used them and liked them, because their price really is good..if I like their demo, I will probably just book them. They play 30 minutes before the cermony and of course for the cermony..Ill let ya know when I get the demo..I hope it works out for both of us!! Good luck!

Re: has anyone heard of...

For just the reception it is 480..it is an additinal 260 if you want them at the cocktail hour..they do chrage travel fees of .30 cents per musician per mile if they travel beyond 30 miles I think. my recption is 27 miles..so I dont have a travel fee..where is your ceremony at?
On their web site it tells you to do Mapquest and use Deer Park as their originating spot and wherever your ceremony is at..it will tell you how many miles they are. I like the because this is for FOUR musicians..if I went with encore or peter howard..it would have been 725 for just the ceremony..with Sonic Strings..I would save a few hundred..unless I decide to also use them for the cocktail hour..so its looking good..YEA!! I hope someone posts something on here about them...

alicia,

you will never believe this but the vendor that i originally wanted emailed me and said that she had inadvertenly mixed up the numbers of my zip code. she sent me the contract electronically to sign and send back.

Re: has anyone heard of...

WOW!! I was just lloking around and didnt hear anything bad about them...maybe that really si a mix up..if the price is right..man..I dont know..maybe wait a few days..tell her yoru concern, tell her you were prepared to not go with them anymore..see what she says..maybe she'll discount...that'd be nice! I read on teh knot about a lady who does 2 violins and a cello for 350..tahts a NICE price too!!

Re: has anyone heard of...

sterling quoted me $600 for a string trio for 1 hour. and a lot more people have given me recs for them. but sonic strings is $480 for a quartet! what a dilema. normally i would go for the cheaper option, but i feel really bad that there was a mix up!

Re: has anyone heard of...

Boy this is tough!! Did sterling have your number? Could they have called you? It seems taht it was their responsibility to contact you..but maybe Im worng..if youve heard good things about them..thats important too. Sonic strings is cheaper, especially if we still have to tip on top of it. Dont you feel bad because there is amix up. So they sent you this through the mail and she said they had the wrong zip? Gosh..I dont know..this is atough decision. I dont want to tell you the wrong thing..maybe post on here and see what everyone elses advice is..

Re: has anyone heard of...

Would sonic string charge you travel fees..is yoru ceremony site within their 30 miles? because if they arent, then they are 30 cents per musician per mile..so that could all add up and then maybe they wouldnt seem like such a great deal. Im just wondering why if the contract was stuck in teh mail..she KNEW she sent you a contract..why didnt she contact you to make sure everything was ok? Then you could have straigthened this out ...

Re: has anyone heard of...

I have to get off of here for now..but I wanted to wish you the best of luck in what you decide..maybe take a few days to think about it..it took them long enough to get the contract to you..you can take all the time you need to be sure they are right for you. Ill be back on tonight...so let me know how ya do!!
