Has anyone just got frustrated with not liking a room and ripped everything out????

I had finally had it with my kitchen. We have only been in the house since end of april but i absolutely hated the kitchen!!!! We had 2 different kinds of cabinets and carpet on the floor.

I decided last weekend on Saturday at 3:00 that i was ripping out my whole kitchen and redoing it (the carpet, cabinets, coutertop and sink).

Has anyone just gotten fed up with a room and totally changed everything (or want to)??

Am i totally crazy?

Wow!!! That is a lot of work! Did the two of you do it yourselves?

We are redoing our kitchen by ourselves and i can't believe how much you save plus it is not even that hard. We had all the wall cabinets up in an hour and a half (and we have never done this before).

I just can't stop doing projects (big or little) in the house. There is not much to do to the house but i always seem to find something that i want to change.

Um yeah ... ... I actually did this to my entire house!

My friends did that. She came home one day to find her husband in the middle of the house completely gutted. She said that from the front door she could see all the way thru to the back door. The house is gorgeous now.

Yup! 'We' (He ) gutted the entire home and completely renovated it. It took FOREVER to finish but it is so worth it. I can't even believe it's the same home. Now we're selling it though and it's hard to know that someone else is going to enjoy all of his hard work! It's amazing how much money we saved. We almost when we see how much people charge for this stuff. I'm so lucky I married someone handy.

It is crazy what contractors charge to do stuff. I don't think that i would hire anyone to do anything unless it was something major like adding onto my house

2 weeks into buying our house my fiance said - oh by the way I can't stand 2 of the bathrooms anymore - they are getting gutted today - and man was he was right!

Now we have awesome bathrooms and we re-did a lot of the rest of the house too - my fiance isn't that handy - but he knows a lot of guys that are - it took a while but finally we are starting to have the house of our dreams!

We have done that....one morning I woke up and couldn't stand my ikea dresser with mix matched chest of drawers that DH was using and turning around to see the crappy desk with computer on it, etc. That weekend went paint shopping and by the next weekend we had furniture on order, a freshly painted room, new light fixture & closet doors.
