I'm not sure how long they'll keep. I'm saying at least a week++. As far as storing: airtight container. layers separated by waxed paper.
I say, give it a try, but make sure you melt the chocolate using a double boiler, low and slow and don't get any water in the chocolate.

Yes! They sell these molds that make it easier to make them. You can go to any chocolate shoppe and buy them and even Michaels or AC Moore might carry them. They will stay fresh for about a week. Just makes sure to keep them in the fridge and take them out about an hour before serving them.
Btw..they are magical!!! That's why they are our wedding favors. So good!!

Re: has anyone made chocolate covered oreos before?
I HAVE I HAVE!! I want to open my own chocolate store!
50 ores is a piece of cake! Just melt the chocolate and dip them in. Set them to dry on wax paper. You can keep them for a couple of weeks. Although in this heat it might be difficult.
I was doing chocolate making on the side for a while. I've made big trays with chocolate covered Oreo's. Marshmallows, pretzels, etc. I even make my own cherry cordials and liquor bottles. I'm a hit at xmas time lol
Let me know if you need anything else. I'd be happy to help any way I can!

YES!!! I make them for Christmas along with all kinds of chocolate covered goodies! I would say that they would last 2 weeks in a air tight container. They are really easy to make, you can buy a mold but you can just cool them on a drying rack and wax paper.

Yes, but I'm not sure how long they keep. Maybe if you put them in ziploc bags and freeze them, they'd be okay for like a month?

They need to be kept in the fridge as long as possible between the time they are done and when you are ready to eat them. Condensation will build up on them if you don't.

Re: has anyone made chocolate covered oreos before?
I am seriously considering making them and including in OOT gift bags. Do you think if I make 2 weeks before wedding they will still be fresh? This is going to be the last thing i want to go the week of. And I rather buy them if it will be a total PITA. What kind of air tight containers can I put them in?
Can I wrap in individual wrappers and then store? Or store unwrapped and wrap closer to wedding day?
BTW - I am very impressed with how many people actually make these! you are giving me confidence!!
And chocolate covered Oreos are definitely magical
