Has anyone made fun of your wedding theme/ideas?

Some people are telling me 'Why are you doing a fall theme? It's not Thanksgiving'

Or things like 'pumpkins--why are you doing that???????'

Then one said , your date is too early for fall...I wanted to scream and say LOOK AT THE CALENDAR YOU BIATCH!


I mean really....is that the weirdest thing they have ever heard of??????

Give me a break! It is P&&&ing me off!
People have all sorts of weddings.

If it's not from family, it's from coworkers.

What can't people MIND THEIR DAMN BUSINESS?
Why do they care about what I am doing?

People always have something to say!! Clueless people, usually. Don't sweat it!! I can only imagine how silly my theme will be to some people- others will love it. My mom kinda scoffed at the pennants and thinks our favors were a bad idea - but whatever!!! We love it! And if you love it, that's all that matters! You're the one that will be looking at pictures the rest of your life!

That is so true. I just can't believe the nerve on some people!

Well back when I wasn't going to do the fall them I bought fall colored candles and glass votive holders from ikea. So I am still doing those and wrapping them w/ tule and I actually just finished my favor tags that I made leaf shaped. They say 'You have warmed our hearts and brightened our day' and then our names and date. I am still debating on doing the fall leaf maple syrups to add to it. They are so darn cute but I don't know if that extra money is in the budget. I will let you know if I end up doing them!!!!

I need to get the leaves that can attach to pumpkin gourds. It is going to be difficult for me to find them printed with names and table numbers though .

I am going to attempt them as placecard holders.

Thanks Tara. We used a big Whale of a Punch and it was a little complicated at first because the print on the paper had to be a certain way to get the punch to fit without cutting off the words. Once we got it though it was easy. My hand was cramping after punching 180 of them but soooo worth it. The paper only cost me 12 cents a sheet and I got 12 to fit per sheet and the puch was 1/2 off so it was only $6.50. It was definitely cheaper to make them!!!!! I will post pictures when the favors are all assembled.
I would love to see your favor tags. They are Yankee themed too right?

I just bought the Whale of a Punch in the scrapbooking aisle and printed them on the computer and then punched them out. It was very cheap as you can see in my post above.

You see I have been looking for a punch that is big enough, but I haven't found it.

Did you buy it in Michaels????

That was my problem too. I was affraid that they wouldn't be big enough to hold the wording I wanted to use. I found the punch at a local craft store by me. I don't think you have them in LI. It is called Hobby Lobby. My Michael's didn't have the leaf one. They may get some in as it gets closer to the fall season. Maybe a local scrapbook store would have something. My local scrapbook store had something called dye-cuts that you could use free of charge if you bought the paper from them. They actually had all sized leaves.
I can't think of anything right now either other than leaves for your pumpkins but I will keep thinking.

My dad thinks everything is silly, my mom doesn't understand why I do a lot of things! (you would think after 31 years she would know me, and know I overdo EVERYTHING!!!!!) my sister was like 'A purple aisle runner?!?!?!' So I just pick and choose who I tell certain things to! There are always going to be naysayers, F&%K em, they are just jealous that you are gonna have an awesome wedding!!!!!!!!!

Not made fun, exactly, as I didn't have a theme, but yeah, coworkers can be rude. A few weeks ago I said to my boss that although I loved my wedding, and the planning, I was really glad it's over, and she said, 'and so are we!' And I was like, what the **** does that mean? Like I haven't listened to her stupid stories about her daughter over and over and over? Grrrr. And that was just the latest. My boss has also been very careful to tell me over and over about how her daughter's BF has asked her to marry him several times, and I just wish I could point out that when a nineteen-year-old boy does that, he's either kidding, or it's a bit creepy. Guys (and women) that age in college should have better things on their minds.

The point is, just ignore them. Partially, they're jealous because you have this big, exciting thing going on in your life and they don't. The rest is that people like to meddle, they like to get their opinions heard, whatever they are. Ignore them!!

exactly!!! The ones that have negative things to say are the ones that can't be happy for anyone else probably beacause they are unhappy with their lives. I totally wouldn't worry about it.

that's really jerky!! I can't believe the nerve people have!! Seriously they should just keep their mouths shut! You are obviously getting married in the fall... hello OCTOBER!! Idiots!

Oh btw my invites are done and Diana is overnighting them to me. So hopefully she we be able to get to work on yours soon!!
