Rather than tips being appreciated...they are expected. I have noticed that alot of vendors naturally expect you to tip them regardless of the service! the tip is no longer something that is appreciated...but they just expect you to do it...it's almost as if you are obligated!!!!!!!
I JUST HAD TO GRIPE!!!!

WHOA!!!
I dont like things like that. I tip according to how the service is. If its exceptional and the person went above and beyond then they usually get a good tip, but if they did nothing special and did their job then they just get a tip but nothing outlandish.
I dont like to be told what to tip, how much, etc...I tip according to the service. If its a crappy service why does that person deserve a tip???

I agree that an individual or company should earn their tip. I hate when it is expected as well. That;s a big problem in todays service industry. I think some just don't give it their all because they know they are gettign a tip anyway.

Re: HAS ANYONE NOTICED THAT...
This has nothing to do with wedding services but I always get annoyed when the people at a Starbucks or ice cream store have a tip jar out. Why should I give you a tip for doing your job??? That so p*sses me off! I don't have a tip jar at my job but maybe I should start putting one since everyone else is starting to.

I agree about the starbucks thing and the jars. But the vendor situation i agree with to a point, but hey all my vendors deserve a tip.Ive noticed some vendors have it on there contract like gratuity not included. I understand girls we have so much on our mind, things can very simply slip our mind. This is just how i feel.Am i wrong to feel this way.

i can understand what you guys are saying. it's like not only are these vendors crazy expensive, i have to feed you and tip as well. i guess if the vendor does a great job you don't mind or even think about it, but if their service ****ed it really gets under your skin.

Re: HAS ANYONE NOTICED THAT...
the only vendors that should have a tip included in the contract is the catering hall and the limo.
I have no problems tipping someone well that does a good job (esp) if they are a tipped employee. But very often it is not clear if these people are tipped employees or if they are just expecting a large tip on top of everything.
