Has anyone purchased the Name Change Kit

I think the Wedding Channel.com has them for $21.95. Has anyone purchased it? Plan to purchase it? Is it worth it??

Re: Has anyone purchased the Name Change Kit

I don't know what it includes but I don't think you need it. Once you get your marriage certificate -
you go to SS,
then go to DMV (and note they will take a new photo)
most of your credit cards and banking can be changed with a phone call or a copy of your certificate
- at work they changed they all my info with a new form and a copy of certificate

Re: Has anyone purchased the Name Change Kit

I purchased it as I have a pretty complicated situation.

1. I have an account at an investment firm (IRA etc.)

2. I hold real-estate property.

2. I hold a professional teaching license, pension, transcripts from taking classes at at least 10 institutions.

3. I am my father's power of attorney and do all of his financial, medical and legal transactions. He has a team of twelve doctors!

Yes, if all you have are credit cards, subscriptions, a car, a driver's license, social security and a 401K you may not see the need but if your situation is more complicated (investments, professional license, education transcripts you may still need) they will only accept written documentation.
