my FSIL makes them. She uses toothbrushes to make the bride and groom. She makes a little tool veil to put on the bride and ties a black ribbon for the groom! she is so talented.

I make diapers cakes for showers all the time. I just made my first towel cake and it came out great!! I used 2 bath towels, 2 hands towels and 2 washcloths. The person registered for 2 different colors but she registered for 2 of each color, so I bought her one full set of all the same color and the other color is still left on her registry.
There are ways you can use 2 colors but I prefer one.

Did people understand what it was? Next week I will be giving one that I made. My diaper cake went over well at a shower, so I am hopeful.

I make diaper and towel cakes all the time. Everyone loves them! The thing is I really want one for my shower. Think it's tacky to make one for myself?

I was thinking of doing the same thing!!! I made one for my sister's shower and everyone loved it!!!
WOW Gina! That's gorgeous! I put gadgets in my towel cakes--- spoons, whisk, ladle,fridge magnets etc. I think my MOH will kill me if I made one for myself, she's very over-protective of my shower!! But I really think I will make one anyway and let my mom say she made it!!! HAHAHA!
I love the towel cake too much, not to have one at my own shower! Let's be rebels!!!
Just an aside--I'm also the woman who makes the shower hats and bouquets out of paper plates and bows! Now how will I manage that one!!!!???
