Hi, I procrastinated and have not taken my Content Specialty Test (Multi subject) for my permanent certification.
I registered for the Feb 24th, 2007 exam.
Any advice form those that have taken it? Next is the video............

took mine last winter...not as bad as everone claims! i thought it was pretty easy. the essay was hard but that's about it!

Did you do well on the Lsat? I passed by the skin of my teeth. Was it like that because that test was horrible?

I was in the first group to take the new one, and I realized it was very literacy heavy...can tell you what the state initiative is/was...it asked about literacy development stages and things of that nature...good luck!

Yes I am but as a S.S. teacher. I am familiar with Teacher's College stuff, but not 100%.

i also teach ss and i took it a couple of months ago - definitely check out the practice questions on the website - there were a couple of questions on my cst that i had seen on the website - good luck!

I would say just review the website and see what you can brush up on in terms of literacy terms such as emergent literacy, phonemic awareness, etc.

I took the CST for math. I think i did ok I find out Jan 16th. The math one has the highest failure rate so I am lil nervous of the results. But i think I did ok.

I am so thankful I have taken all my tests and that part of my life is over!! The tests are stressful but not THAT hard.
I went through the wringer with my video. It was destroyed in the mail and sent back to me with 1 day until the deadline. Imagine the horror of that!! It was stressful but I made it thankfully.

Agreed!!! Usually they just change something minor in the essay but for the most part, the practice one and the real one have very similar questions. You can also go to the library and borrow the review books. I passed the LAST by a couple of points and I think I did about the same on my multi subject CST...HTH!!! And good luck!!!

Oh and a funny story about the video....someone recorded their video and sent it in. She got back her score that she had passed. About a month later, she sat down to watch her wedding video, and it was her teaching!!! She accidently sent in her wedding video instead of the teaching one and she still passed!!! Just thought I'd lighten the test taking mood with this!!!

i took it in august. it was tedious and a lot of the passages were totally out of left field (like a list of possible housing for a single father where you had to pick his best choice for living and supporting his child...) the essay was a PITA. FM if you want more info!

Take your time and use the full 4 hours I think it is to take it.. i really didn't 'study ' for it.. its like you know it or you don't
