Mine are shot from the move, I broke 5 of them I have had acrylics forever and was thinking about letting them breathe
If you took them off did you wind up putting them back on? I'm already married so won't need them for my wedding

I always take them off to breathe every 6 months or so. I end up getting them done again about a month later. I can't be without them for too long.

Re: Has anyone taken their nails off
Michelle I took mine off before Xmas and they are still off. At first they were like PAPER, and kept breaking, now they are growing on their own but I am going for tips next week or soon after for the wedding. I miss my tips so much & so does John!

Re: Has anyone taken their nails off
Shell, I took mine off in September. It took a few months for them to revive, but my nails look great now. I think I owe a lot to prenatal vitamins though!!!

When I take them off and say I am going to let them grow on their own, I always end up getting them put back on too

Re: Has anyone taken their nails off
I had mine on for 7 years straight, and when I took them off I just waited for them to lift (took about 8 weeks!) and went to a nail salon and had them remove them and give me a manicure. I've never looked back! I love my natural nails, AND not having the every 2 week committment.

Soak them in pure acetone-- that is really quick you can get that at Sally's- but you MUST use a glass bowl that you don't want anymore.

Re: Has anyone taken their nails off
I took my nails off about 3 weeks ago and they look TERRIBLE. They are weak and peeling - yuck. I went and got a manicure this weekend and am using Nailtiques to help build them up again. but what a drag!

Re: Has anyone taken their nails off
I used acrylics for about 6 years and when I took them off it took about 4 months for my real nails to recuperste. They kept breaking off!
But eventually they recovered. I kept them short and manicured and little by little they grew a bit longer.
Now they're strong as sh*t and I'm filing them constantly to keep them down! It was a pain in the @ss but totally worth it. Saves a ton of money not having to go in for those bi-weekly fills!

Re: Has anyone taken their nails off
I took mine off once and I felt like an idiot doing things. I can't function without my nails. I know it sounds silly, but its true. I've adjusted to doing things with them that I cant do things without them.

I haven't had them in years.... I like the natural look of nails, short and well manicured with marshmellow or ballet slippers....

Re: Has anyone taken their nails off
I took mine off a week after we got engaged - the ski trip killed them. I've gone back and forth several times, but I think I'm done for good now. My nails are short, but I get the $7 manicures every other week and they look wonderful.
