Has anyone thought of learning how to do calligraphy?

How hard could it really be if all I need it for is to address my invites!

I was going to use clear address labels for my envelopes since we are trying to keep costs low but do you guys think it would be posible to learn & practice calligraphy ourselves? With the right pen and guidelines how hard could it be??

Anyone else interested in trying?

FMIL gave me an old kit she found... I was definately going to take some time to play around with it!

FI is trying it himself?? That is hysterical!! What a sweet offer though!

A few weeks ago, my FI offered to help me make jewlery for a fair I was getting ready to show at!! hahahahah I almost fell on the floor! He doesn't know the first thing about making jewelry!!

I think I am going to pick up a kit this week and give it a shot. I remember having a brief calligraphy course in high school and I wasn't half bad. Even if it doesn't work out well enough to do my own invites, it can't hurt to improve my penmanship!

And lord knows I have plenty of time to practice it for the invites!!

I think there is a class at the Michael's in Westbury some time in January.

It's January 6 (this Thursday) at 11:30 I think--I was just there buying calligraphy pens! I have to be in CA for work though so I definitely can't make it.

I bought a few books shortly after getting engaged, and they have been collecting dust since I got them!!

I considered it and then I realized I could do them in a nice font on the computer and it would probably look better than if i did it myself. It's very time consuming.
