what are the points worth? i have over 35,000 points, but i have no idea how it would be put towards my flight for the honeymoon. i plan on booking through a travel agent to make my life easier. (but i dont know where im going yet lol)

OMG! Yeah, FIL's gave us their points. They gave us like 160,000 miles and I think our trip to Hawaii was 159,000. It's a lot of points! Ridiculous! But you can always put the points towards the trip!

From what I understand you have to book your trip through AMEX to use the points.

I used my amex points for my airfare to Hawaii. I used the travel agent to book hotels, cars and inter-island flights.
Then I switched over some Amex points to my delta FF account for one ticket. I used the combination of Delta FF miles and AMEX points to get a free first class ticket to and from hawaii. Then I went on the AMEX website and used the 'pay with points' option on their travel site and booked the same flight for FH using my remaining miles and paying the difference on my Amex card.
I was able to get 2 first class tickets to and from Hawaii for a total of $621!!!
You have to use the AMEX site to 'pay with points.' They are equivalent to roughly 1%. So if you have 35,000 miles, you'll get $350 applied to your ticket.

I used mine and had about 40-something thousand poiints. That only covered a little more than one round trip ticket. Figure a typical coach round trip ticket is about 25,000 points if it's not a last minute flight or blackout date. You can check online though what they want for the flight.

also not sure what amex card you have, but i have a delta one so i have enough for a flight somewhere and then i get a companion ticket for $99.
