I am trying to decide between using real or faux wax. Can you tell me how they worked out? PLEASE post a pic if you have one.

Re: Has anyone used REAL wax seals???
Real wax doesn't go through the mail well.

Re: Has anyone used REAL wax seals???
What I've read. here's from a site:
http://www.swordmark.com/seals.html
Will my wax seal survive a trip through the mail? Wax seals were made to be broken so the letter could be opened easily. Unfortunately the postal sorting machines tend to rip off or crush wax seals on the outside of an envelope. There are a couple of things you can try to improve your odds of the seal making it in one piece. First, you can make sure the seal is not on the outside of the envelope where it would be in contact with the machines. Put the seal on a letter inside the envelope, or if it must be on the envelope, put that envelope inside another envelope. Second, you can put the words 'Hand Cancel' on the envelope and hand it to a human being at the post office. There is a chance that they can try to bypass the machine.

The color is burgundy and I used this stuff called Treasure gold to bring out the detail.
Actually, according to my dad, who is a letter carrier, hand canceling is only the first step in the post office. All mail goes through a machine to have a barcode printed on it. So there is no escaping the machines!
Use faux wax. It won't crumble or melt like real wax

The wax seal will crack in half.. That's why the faux is the better option..
