I don't know if I am PMSing or what, but I just finished reading The Kite Runner and I was crying.
Has a book ever made you cry? Or am I crazy?

OMG yes did you ever read James Pattersons Suzannes Diary for Nicholas? I was balling like a baby for hours. Sometimes a book just gets yah.

OMG YES! The Red Tent - I was not just crying, but bawling (the tears were streaming down my face).
SO SAD!

Oh me too when I read Tuesdays with Morrie. It didn't help that my mother in law passed away of the same disease.

The best books are those that make us cry. You're totally not crazy. I'm only surprised that this was the first time this has happened to you!

Me too...and my best boss whose name was Maurice (and was my mentor) also passed away of the same disease. Mitch Albom's other book, The Five People You Meet in Heaven also made me cry A LOT!

I have shed a tear (or two) at the end of books, like White Oleander or Memoirs of a Geisha, but I have never bawled.
Glad to see I am not the only one.

I cry at books all the time, have ever since reading 'Sweet Valley Twins: April Fools!' at the age of 9!
What? I was *really* upset that they tricked Elizabeth!!!!
In all seriousness, though, I cry at everything.

Okay, I hate to admit it, but the last Harry Potter book made me cry.

I sob every time I reach the end of Les Miserables and I cried so hard when I finished the Chronicles of Narnia.

OMG, me too!!!!!! Actually, I would listen to it in the car on my way to and from work, and for a couple of days, I would come home with tears just running down my face. DH was like, no more listenting to that type of stuff for you anymore.
I think one of the first books that made me cry was The Trouble with Thirteen by Betty Miles (I'm pretty sure that was what it was.) Whatever it was, there was a scene where the girls dog dies and I just about lost it!! I love that book!!

The Kite Runner was such an amazing book. I just finished it like 2 weeks ago. Definitely a book worth crying over. The things those boys went through. Just horrific.

Re: Has this ever happened to you?
Books often make me cry. I still cry every time I read The Great Gatsby or The House of Mirth.
