Has this happen to anyone? (re: DJs)
I left a small deposit and signed contracts with a DJ company that we were going to use. Now, we have changed our minds and we wnat to use another dj service. Are we going to be able to get out of our contract?
Search in your own words. Describe what you need or ask a wedding planning question.

is the DJ company located in suffolk if so it really shouldntbe a probem ... i would read what your contract says ...
Same thing happened to me. It really depends on the terms of your contract. Most will keep the deposit but free you of the contractual obligation for the event, as long as you notify them in an official way. In my instance, we notified the DJ 7 months in advance by certified mail, and it was not a problem (although we lost the deposit money).
It all depends on the terms of your contract. Make sure to read it and see what its terms are regarding cancellation. You might just lose your deposit or you might be responsible for a certain percentage. Let us know!
whats the difference if it's in Suffolk or not?
suffolk county has a 6 month contract law or something
