let me start by saying i am so not a bridezilla. i don't care how the bm's wear their hair or if their nails are all the same length. stuff like that doesn't bother me. but why did my fmil call me a bridezilla last night b/c i said all i care about now is that my dress fits? its my dress and it needs to fit, why am i wrong for stressing over it.
my parents also think that i'm freaking out over the dress b/c i asked my mom to pay for it. ps - she paid for 2 dresses for my sister, 2!! and my dress is less then half the price, but whatever. i'm not freaking out, its just that i get upset and no one expects me to get upset and therefore i'm a bridezilla. i don't get it. its my wedding day and i want things to go right, not perfect, just right. is that wrong?
ok, pity party over tia

Re: has this happened to you?
that doesn't sound bridezilla-ish. it sounds logical. you pay a lot of money for a wedding dress to wear one day and a lot of money for a photographer to take pics of you on that day, who wouldn't want the dress to fit, and who doesn't stress about it fitting (i know i do!)

Wanting your dress to fit is not having a bridezilla moment!!!
This has sort of happened to me too. FFIL told me that his mother (FH's grandmother) is so worried about me because all I talk about it is the wedding and what am I going to do when it's over? I was like...HELLO...every time I see her she has a list of questions a mile long and doesn't LET me talk about anything else!!! She better watch it or I will go bridezilla on her @ss!

I know exactly what you mean. I think because before I was planning this wedding I let stupid little things really stress me out...so automatically, they assumed I would be a bridezilla with the wedding. They haven't noticed that I've completely carefree!

I don't understand why talking about an event that is life changing and one of the most happiest times in your life is turned into something so silly. Why is it so hard for people to understand...that you may want to talk about it? It's just like having a baby. You want to share the news w/everyone..and when they ask...ummm you tell. SHEESH! PEOPLE!!!! It's funny because the first thing I am asked is 'how are the wedding plans coming along'...not how are you?

Ask them how would they feel if their shoes don't fit or their outfit doesn't fit? Really doesn't fit..like won't close and their arse is hanging out? Maybe that will put it into perspective.

By no means does that make you a Bridezilla! Just ignore them....It's your wedding and you don't want people hanging out of their dresses! Nuff said!!!

Re: has this happened to you?
I'm convinced that people will make themselves believe that you're a bridezilla or stressed or freaking out or whatever they want to call it. Why? Because they want to criticize. I guess because people are more apt to believe it's true? I don't know.
I was calm, cool and collected right up until the week before when my sisters, who only had 2 responsibilites, go and start changing everything. A week before! You couldn't have done this a month ago? The two of them called me no less than 7 times in one day to make a change to this, to the color of that, to the jr bridesmaid's hairstyles, to their own outfits...
And then my one sister turns around and says, 'I can hear that you're stressed out so don't worry about it, I'll just handle it myself.' That killed me. That it was 'me' who was stressed out, not 'you' who was complicating the situation just days before the wedding I spent a year planning!
Anyway, it was all for naught because the kids looked great, they looked great, and everything went off without a hitch. But people are always going to point the finger at the bride for their own satisfaction.
Just remember that the next time someone tells you someone else is a Bridezilla. Don't believe the hype!

Re: has this happened to you?
People are quick on the word....I had an issue with my invites and I was totally stressing over it and ready to kill the invite people - at first.....20 minutes later after I calmed down, I realized that there was nothing I could get accomplished by being upset and that I had every right to be frustrated, but that I just had to deal with it as things went wrong again and again...one of the ladies at work told me that I just needed to get my bridezilla week over with and it would all be fine. I was ike really I'm not being a bridezilla.....I had a freak out moment, and then the rest of the week I was fine with everything, just rolling with it as it happened...still frustrated, but that was all!

Re: has this happened to you?
that freakin word aggravates the crap outta me!! lets see... 1) the single girls at work call me bridezilla..oh im sorry im experienceing a life changing event that maybe youre not going through at this moment, im sorry if our patients in our office ask me 'hows the wedding planning going' and i actually answer, that MUST make me obsessed!! 2) Im bridezilla according to my FH because i think inviting the MAILMAN from a job he QUIT 8 MONTHS AGO!!! is alil ridiculous ;) Youre right hunny im A CONTROL FREAK! 3)im bridezilla because my dress comes in, barely fits because they measured the length wrong (oops)..has platinum embroidery instead of the silver embroidery that i was told to match my shoes and veil to (which cost me almost 600 combined and cannot be returned)...NO BIG DEAL, RIGHT? LMAO ..........................................................................................
GIRLS THIS IS ALL IN ONE WEEK!!! lmaoooooooo...im gonna lose it soon!
