A BM from a hall we had looked at called and asked what our plans were. I told her we we booked somewhere else and wanted to know where. I told her no, she wanted it for her records. I thought that was strange.

That's why I dont answer the phone unless I know who is calling... I'm too much of a chicken to say that I chose some place else over them!

this happened to us and i told them where we booked with out thinking and the were like why did you book with them and i told them the my mom liked that place better and she is paying which is a lie. but whatever

thats odd... they could be checking to see their competition and maybe see why you chose not to go with them... but then again it really isnt any of their business...

I think they only do that to know whos their competition, some places even ask you what was it that made you pick one over the other...better for them to know .

This is a little off topic but a Florist did that to us. One company called me after getting my number off a showcase list and asked me if I needed flowers for the wedding, when I told her I already had one booked she asked me which company it was? and if I would consider canceling my florist to go with them?!?!?!
I told her No and said that I was in the middle of something and could no longer stay on the phone....I thought she was REALLY RUDE!

They def. want to check our their competition. Plus, they prob. don't care if they seem rude at that point because they already lost your business.

I've had halls call (one actually called 5 times!) and only one has asked where I ended up booking - I didn't really think to ask why though
