Hatboxes

Does anyone know where I can get these? I'm making my card collection box out of them and Michael's doesn't have them. Any ideas? TIA

Re: Hatboxes

I've been on this huge quest to find them as well. I've been to AC moore both in Levittown and Hauppague and Michael's in Levitttown, Huntington Station and Commack.... grrrrrrrrr... the biggest round one I could find is 8 '. I've looked on the net but they want you to buy at least 6 in each size...grrrrrr

If these are so popular you think we could find them.

If anyone has any other ideas. I've already invested WAY too much time looking for them but as my granny would say, 'I'm thick' and really want one. I also want to make it not rent one. I thought I'd pass it to my nieces to play with.

Great....I'm in the same boat, but I just started my quest. This has been my problem with a few things for this wedding. I'm pretty crafty and want to do things myself rather than rent. UGH! I'll let you know what I find!!

How about these? Do you think they would work?

They might work but it's $38.50 for a set of 5 unfinished. That's a lot. According to the directions I have I need three. I just can't find one 12' one and that site wanted over $20 bucks for one.

You can rent one for $40. I thought I could make it for $25 as I already have the paint and ribbon.

I was also trying to track down a picture of the Lillian Vernon hat box. Apparently the company discontinued it and I was trying to find a bride who would sell it to me

i just got them at Joann's for 24 bucks. I got three. I'm not sure on the sizes but the biggest one was about 20 inches in diameter. When I stacked them it look great. They are unfinished. I thought that was a great deal.

Where is Joann's? I'm in East Northport and work in Seaford.

I get my hatboxes from Filene's Basement, TJ Maxx, and Century 21 in Manhattan.

Linens and Things has them. They are not plain though. They have decorations on them.

there are a few I think. I went to the one on Sunrise in Holbrook/bohemia. Check Joann.com for store locations.

Re: Hatboxes

You must go to Nordstrom Rack in the source mall. I just went there and got the prettiest boxes ever.

PS its Nordstorm but there were $7.97, $5.97, and $3.97 and are so nice. There have some cute houseware stuff there that is cheap. Its near the registers on the main level.

Oh crap just saw that you wanted them for card collections...well the ones I got are black and white with flowes but they also had these beige and red ones and also purple ones....they are really pretty but i didnt know if you only wanted white or not.

Re: Hatboxes

I bought hat boxes a while back when I made a card cake for my engagement party. I remember them being expensive, it was probably the $40 ones because I got 5! I spray painted 3 of them white and glued rose petals and mini roses on them. I was trying to sell it a while back because I have no use for it but it didn't work out.

I still have it if anyone is interested...to use as is or try and remove the petals!! They are ivory petals with pink tips and pink satin roses on the tiers of the boxes and around the slot on top...the pictures don't do it justice! The bottom is stuck on with velcro so it can be reused :)

Good luck!
