I don't like to fly. I do it, but each time nearly have a panic attack during flight. I am already dreading my flight to Vegas in a week. Anyone have any suggestions for being more stress-free during flight (short of going to the doctor for tranquilizers?). Thanks.

Oh, yeah, once I get past the nervous about flying I start getting nervous about the presenting in front of 500 people at the conference!

Southwest from MacArthur direct. It's such a long flight too, 5 1/2 hours there.

Re: Hate to fly...
My first time flying (I was 15) I was so scared! A few of my friends got together and wrote me a whole mess of letters and notes to keep me busy, and I wrote them back on the airsick bags! It helped alot. Flying is still my biggest fear though!
Try writing letters... if not I second the motion for sky-high nookie.

Aww that's so cute. I already have 5 magazines and a book to read...It's so funny, I was never afraid when I was little, but ever since 9/11 I get so nervous...I just feel so confined.

Re: Hate to fly...
see that's why i always fly JetBlue if I can - -they have satellite TV. I'm not a fan of flying either and it takes your mind off it entirely.
We flew JBlue to Vegas and are doing so again in July --truly the best
In fact, we are also using them for CA next month

No, Southwest. God, it's going to be so boring. I hated flying to Jamaica for the HM and DH was with me and the flight was 2 hours shorter! Ugh.

As a former-frequent-flyer to AZ when I was in college (going back next week) I like to pack a whole travel bag....I have a short attention span.....CD player, CDs, Batteries, snacks, notebook & pen to write thoughts, magazines, book, cards, etc. I get fidgetty too, so I always wear something comfortable and bring flip flops so I can curl up in my seat This time I will probably have some homework to do.
Thanks, I was just remembering that before this my longest flight was to Phoenix! It is beautiful there. Worth the trip (almost...). I'll definitely have my CD player, gum, books, magazines...
