a Jack & Jill Baby Shower? I want to have one for a friend of mine. I was just curious about how it is with men at the shower. I would love to here any details you might have. Thanks Ladies!
We had one for my sister. There really isn't much of a difference except that we didn't play a lot of the games that men aren't quite interested in.

i've been to one. It was a lot of fun! The mommy didn't open gifts, though. It was at night, so it was more of a cocktail party w/ drinks, appetizers, etc. We did play games though!

I had one for my shower bc I was absolutely dreading my shower... It was the best day ever! We bbqed, played cards, bocce ball, all that, and than my husband and I opened our gifts together and whoever wanted to watch, did. I had a lot of my uncles call the following day saying that they thorougly enjoyed going. My brothers and dad were also happy that they were able to be a part of it in a way too.
My SIL had one. It wasn't bad. They had a DJ, food, cake, and drinks. She opened the gifts there too. There was dancing by some as well.
Yes, my brother and SIL had one - no games were played, but it allowed them to visit with everyone in the family.
I had a shower and men were invited later for dinner (about two hours after the women). No games, but I did open presents.
we did a jack and jill bridal shower and it was so much fun! It was more of an all out party than a shower, but it made a lot of sense for us since I have a lot of male family members that I am close to.

I just went to one last Saturday and it was the best baby shower that I have been to! It was more of like a party atmosphere with cocktails and lots of food! It was fun having all of the guys around...and very different! No complaints from the men at all!
I like the idea b/c it is more modern. The days are gone when only the mother had to be concerned with making sure the baby had everything, and caring for the baby. even bridal showers sometimes seem old fashioned to me. the wife isn't the only one who will use the pots and pans. still, i did have a ladies only bridal shower and i loved it, so i can't knock it too much. it's just that i also love the co-ed idea. i am not sure if men want to sit through the opening of gifts, but if we can be honest here, a lot of women don't enjoy that either.
We are having one for my BF. Has anyone seen any cute invites for Jack and Jill showers?
