Hi girls, With all this talk about florists lately, I am trying to get an idea of how many of you have booked florists already. People keep telling me I have time (July 2010) but I am not sure if I should listen to them. Flowers is the one thing I am dreading because I dont know anything about them! Do you think I have some time?

listen i booked with someone and it didnt work out now i am booking with another vendor - alot of vendors had my date booked already so i would book as fast as you can. honestly though designs by rose is awesome her work is impeccable & clean I love her!

Im not using flowers! only for the bridal party and the two place we have picked out for the reception they have a florist who provide flowers for the wedding party!

I haven't booked yet officially per se. My Mom has friend who works for a florist and also on her own and she has already agreed to do my wedding - but, nothing is set in stone yet. I have seen her work and it's gorgeous, but I haven't signed anything yet - mainly - bc I don't know what I want with flowers. LOL. I actually just said to my mother earlier tonight that I wanted to square away the flower situation....so, hopefully, will be making it official within the next few weeks.
You have time - just casually start looking around at florists - they will definitely help you with what you like and you will figure out what you like

I am STRESSING about the flowers, but I came to a conclusion today that I am going to wait until next month to begin that quest.
Now that I booked the venue, next on the priority list is the dress!!!

I'm booked with a florist. but you do have time! I think they say something like 6 months in advance. The only benifit of booking early is that no one is really booked so you have more options and easier to find something in lower price ranges. You also yet the year before price. Some places will only do 3events a day so if you like them, they may not be available.
I'm not saying you can't do this at 6 months before... you totally can. it just may take you being a little more flexable than if you did it say 9months in advance. Also, doing it early.... It's just a 'one more thing out of the way'

I did but that's because I was originally booked for 10-24-09 and pushed my date back to June 2010

i just booked my florist about a month ago (wow time went fast).
Don't worry about not having an idea. I didn't either, i just had an idea of the colors i wanted. Check out theknot.com for ideas.
When i went to pedestals Rob actually brought flower combinations out for me to see which was a big help.

i just booked my florist on friday! 9 months before...i read that you should book the florist 8-9 months before the wedding so you definitely have some time!

I booked with Flower Michele in Dec. The florist was the hardest for me to book b/c I knew what I wanted...but didnt know how to explain it...and wasnt sure of the flowers etc. John from Flower Michele totally knew what I wanted without me even tellng him that much. I booked him on the spot!!!
