Have you ever been 'unhappy' about hearing about someone having a baby???

I will admit it, yes...two of my cousins got pregnant and while I looove their kids, I thought they were idiots for getting pregnant in the first place. One was just off of drugs and the other knew her bf for a month. I wanted better for them, but that wasn't my place. and when my father told me his wife was having baby, i was shocked, to say the least, but i looooove my baby sister. but i'm curious...are you ALWAYS happy hearing about someone being pregnant? or do you sometimes think ***???

i think some people shouldn't reproduce

seriously, i don't necessarily feel unhappy, i just feel bad for the child in certain situations...but who am i to judge...

some people should really need a license to have a kid.....I was very jealous when my best friend had her babies...but I was NO where near being ready....and I was jealous YEARS ago when my cousins had babies...again...not ready for them. And then one of our GM and his wife announced they were PG right after our wedding.....I got a little jealous but knew we would be there soon....they are due in FEB and we are due in July

I have been there when you just know that the timing just isn't right for that person. I also agree that some people shouldn't reproduce! You are not alone.

I sometimes get unhappy because I have had a stillborn and a misscarriage so It's VERY hard for me to get excited for other people...but I try.

And I agree some people should not be parents but I try not to judge till I have my own and can say I know better..

My unhappiness is not always related to the parents...I will admit that a lot of times I can't take eharing it out of pure jelaousy. After trying for a year and half and 5 losses its getting vary hard to not be jealous/angry.
I feel bad because I know it's no one's problem but ours

I do get jeaous when I hear friends are having babies, like my sister, she just found out she is havinng twins and I am THRILLED for her, because I love her and she has already suffered four miscarriages, but I still get jealous. Once we adopt, or have a child chosen, I wont be jealous anymore, because then I will have my family too. Thats all I want, is a family. But until then, Ill be jealous.

I have to admit I do get jealous - and I agree with the statement that some people shouldn't reproduce - unless of course - they are giving them away.
But I get jealous more now because we have been trying with no luck for wow can it be 7 failed months!!

I wouldn't be honest if I didn't say when I heard certain people were pregnant I didn't get the 'lemon in my mouth' look on my face. I look at all BABIES as blessings, I just question sometimes the people they have been blessed to

I get jealous too, considering that me and DH are going to have to 'work' to get me pregant and then I hear stories of how people were trying for one month and POOF they get pregnant. I will probably still be this way until I have a child of my own.

My FH's entire family was unhappy when they heard this his aunt was having her 2nd child. She's not cut out to be a mother and everybody felt bad for the unborn child.

On the other side, I know it hurts but don't let it leak how you are feeling. To ANYONE! Believe me. I am on the other side of the situation, and it hurts even more for the person who you are resenting...

For the last God knows how many years I have been told I would have trouble conceiving. SInce 08/2000, DH and I have been less than careful. Not even close to careful. Even though my poor parents would be mortified, not to mention my poor grandmother who would probably disown me, we just didn't care beacsue we knew if it happened it would be difficult and even if we weren't married, we would get married, just a bit sooner than the set date. After a while, we decided two dogs and a house and some travelling wouldn't be so bad. Even if we never had children, we have each other. And Maxie and Momo. So after we got married, we decided to look in to fertility drugs. We wanted to see if we could kick start teh ovulation. I confided in this person how I was in no way ready to be a parent. I was only married 4 months! Got the Rx filled anyway and shed 1000x tears trying to decide if I was ready, and what do you know? I was already almost a month pregnant. I was in shock, Brian was in shock and we didn't know what to say or do or think. After so many years of thinking it wasn't goign to happen, it happened. I held it inside for two weeks (because and only beacsue I was so afraid of losing it and having to deal with THAT) and when I told this person~who was trying for all of about 2 weeks to get pregnant~she was jealous and nasty and just an all around b**** for days. Did I say or do something wrong? I was going through hell in my own mind asking how am I going to afford this, I was only at my new job for 4 months, my poor DH was totally not expecting this...and all I got was attitude. One of our mutual friends told me what was goign on and I held it in for a short while. Until this person got pregnant. ANd then life was all beautiful and dandy and back to normal...according to her . That was almost 5 months ago. Even though I forgive this person, you never forget. WHen they ask how you are feeling, your initial reaction is do they really care or they askign to be polite?
It will totally chaneg the relationship you have if you are close with this person. SOrry for the venting, it's just somethign that I am dealing with now.

well, i'm glad i'm not alone. i just see some people and think that they have so much growing up to do and i'm proud of dh and i when we recognize that we aren't ready. but who am i to say when someone is or isn't ready, but at the same time, i wish people would THINK!!!

I agree with all of you, there are just some people who dont deserve children.

I'm so sorry~please let me clarify...
I'm not talking about the people who should not reproduce, I am talking about the people who aren't happy just beacsue they aren't pregnant and another person is. I agree, there are alot of people out there who I wonder why they deserve to have children, but some people just can't be happy for people unless they are happy for themselves--as in my case....
